Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- There are 10 months until the Democratic national convention next year in Denver, Colorado, but pro-life advocates are already making preparations for massive demonstrations there. They complain that not only is the party officially pro-abortion but none of the candidates seeking its presidential nod are pro-life.
Several pro-life advocates planned to appear at the Pepsi Center in downtown Denver on Tuesday to discuss their plans for rallies and protests during the event.
Rev. Patrick Mahoney, the head of the Christian Defense Coalition, said pro-life advocates will be coming from across America "to expose the radical pro-abortion policies of the Democratic Party and to pray for and end to the war on America's women and children through abortion."
He said he's disappointed that "Senators Clinton, Obama and Edwards all support partial-birth abortion and resist any overturning of Roe v. Wade."
He told LifeNews.com the early announcement about events would give pro-life people more time to prepare to participate.
"We are issuing a national call for the pro-life community, and all people of good will, to come to the Democratic National Convention in Denver next summer and stand against the horror of abortion," he added.
Though numerous pro-abortion political groups target younger voters in an attempt to register them to vote and to motivate them to support pro-abortion Democratic candidates, Mahoney says he hopes pro-life teens and college students will join the rallies.
"We are especially challenging members of the emerging generation to be involved in this non-violent revolution of social justice and human rights," he said.
Danielle Versluys says her youth group Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, is ready to meet the challenge.
"We are coming to the Democratic National Convention to be a voice for the voiceless minority the thousands of innocent children who die every day in America," she told LifeNews.com.
"Our elected leaders are responsible for all American lives, whether born or preborn, and it is time for the youth of America to say enough is enough," she added.
Mahoney said the Democratic party is "hypocritical" for calling for an end to the war in Iraq while supporting and promoting a "war" on women and children through abortion.
Of course this is only effective if conservatives insure that the GOP doesn't also nominate an abortionist.
Pro-Life Ping
This is counter-productive, IMO, and all that’s going to happen is a bunch of good people getting arrested. We all know the Rat party is the party of death, and the good news is that all of the GOP candidates except for Rudy-fruit are firmly pro-life. The Democrats aren’t going to change.
I live in Colorado and am very happy to hear this will be done, I was all set to walk around the convention holding signs protesting Hillary and all the DemocRATs.
I don't think most Americans know about those numbers. They should know.
