Barrett: "What brings you back to the Capitol today?" Craig: "Go to work." Barrett: "Are you intending to vote today, sir?" Craig: "That's my plan." Barrett: "Why decide to come back today?" Craig: "Because I'm a serving United States Senator from Idaho."
Craig then stepped into the senators' dining room on the first floor of the Capitol. On the way he passed a visibly surprised Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, who gave Craig a big welcome back handshake.

>>Its not a sex scandal. Did he have sex? No. Did he solicit it? Probably. I wish he would just switch parties and this would all go away.<<
He’s clearly gay because no straight guy sits on a toilet and interacts for that lenghth of time with the guy in the next stall.
But it was also entrapment and a bad arrest, IMO.

Did CNN run a headline after Barney Frank was busted for running a gay prostitution ring from his office, “Frank makes first visit to Capitol since sex scandal broke?” No, I didn’t think so.

I don’t think his office was involved.
But I get your point.
There is a real difference - like with porn, for example. Somebody who thinks its not the government’s business get seen with a Playboy isn’t going to generate the same story as a Preacher who has been trying to get Playboy banned and is then found to buy the magazine himself.
Hypocrisy is as big an angle in this story as what he actually did.

Switch to what party? He's a Republican, albeit a gay and/ or bisexual Republican, but a Republican nonetheless. Changing parties doesn't erase his troll for bathroom sex.

If he were a democrat he would be promoted to a committee chairmanship. The media would ignore it, and his calls to resign would stop. Perverts are celebrated in the democrat party, not chastised with shame.

That would only be true is he were not perceived as anti-gay.

There are important Iraq votes coming in the Senate. If he votes with most Republicans, be glad he is there.
