Now, now...I somewhat agree with you but let’s look at reality. Fred right now has the name recognition & money, and even though Hunter is more conservative he doesn’t appear to be gaining momentum. It’s quite possible that Fred will pull a James Polk and serve one term and turn the keys over to Hunter, who would still be a 65 year old VP and the immediate front-runner in 2012.

I beg to differ. Hunter is gaining momentum and his support is growing every day. Remember, a lot of voters aren’t even thinking about who to vote for yet. Things are ramping up in the Hunter campaign and the organizational aspect is gaining momentum too.

Name recognition will not be a factor in the near future.

I like the idea of these two together at this dinner though. It will be nice for Iowa voters to take a close and personal look at the two candidates. I hope that they are the only ones to headline that dinner. I’m sure Iowans will appreciate it too.
