The Values Voter Debate (A Shot Across The Liberal Media's Bow Alert)
Worldnetdaily.com ^ | 09/19/2007 | Joseph Farah

They heard questions formulated not in the minds of the out-of-touch media elite. They heard questions tugging at the very heart and soul of the quiet Americans who go to work each day and attend religious services every week.

It wasn't just what was asked, it was also remarkable who did the asking. Questioners included Monica Ramos, the wife of one of the jailed Border Patrol agents who heard from seven Republican presidential candidates that they would not mishandle her husband's case as the incumbent GOP president has. They also included a young woman who isn't supposed to exist – a survivor of an abortion – who asked a pointed question of Rudy Giuliani's empty podium. (The non-answer she received from the empty podium wasn't any qualitatively better or worse than what she would have received had Giuliani's empty suit been present.) They also included someone else we're constantly told doesn't exist – an ex-homosexual – asking whether the candidates would stand up against the radical homosexual political agenda.

t's no wonder the four pretenders to the throne didn't show up. They would not have been comfortable in such a setting – a venue of prayer and praise to God and questions from people who are not supposed to exist.

It's also no wonder the Big Media, including C-SPAN, were no-shows. They want a monopoly on the way politics is debated in America. Politics to them is too important to be left to amateurs, non-professionals and superstitious people who actually believe in God.

Had they dropped in and allowed more Americans to see what happened at the beautiful Broward Center for the Arts this week, Americans might have realized there is far more to presidential politics than the horse-race aspect upon which the media elite tend to focus.

The debate the liberal media wouldn't cover. Why? Conservative and God-fearing Americans who asked questions they don't like and which the GOP pretenders couldn't answer. I agree with Joseph Farah its brought about a change for the better that has shattered the MSM's monopoly over who gets to interact with presidential candidates. Someday, none of us will ever have to settle for the lesser of two evils again. Then America will be the great country God has blessed to be.

“They also included a young woman who isn’t supposed to exist – a survivor of an abortion – who asked a pointed question of Rudy Giuliani’s empty podium.”

Wow.

I can’t help but think of when lightening struck Rudy’s microphone, temporarily shutting it off in one of the debates.

Coincidence??

No offense, but a debate mostly unattended by the contenders and completely unreported by anybody except for W.N.D. is hardly a shot across the bow.

Not that they shouldn’t have attended..they should have.

Not that it shouldn’t have received coverage..it should have.

But, the reality is that this debate was a complete nonfactor, righteous indignation of the participants notwithstanding.

The liberal media doesn't cover it, it doesn't exist, right? We conservatives are used to their indifference to us, unless we do something salacious or create a scandal. Its like they view us as a bunch of odd freaks. I'm tired of it!

I view it as a step in the right direction. These are all people the media says doesn't exist. But they do. There are larger numbers of them than of the liberal interest groups put together in this country. They finally have a voice. I call that historic! And as Joseph Farah says, "do you resent the Big Media for having pre-determined the 2008 election before a single vote has been cast?" You're not feeling alone there.

If socialism ends up taking over the entire U.S. very soon with the Democrats in control of everything important from January ‘09 on, then everything that you just mentioned will be moot for the long-term. The fight truly needs to be to prevent socialism from completely taking over the entire U.S. very soon as well as ever in the future! We are already slowly losing the conservative identity of the U.S. thanks to both political correctness and “the dumbing down of people”, and these things must truly stop and then truly be replaced by commonsense for always!

Of course. Free Republic was prophetic when one of the posters said of Janet Folger: "She's our new flagship blonde." I couldn't resist quoting the following passage from Andrew Longman's report on the event:

"But the eloquent Keyes, the indefatigueable Tancredo and Hunter, the capable and adept Huckabee – they gave the true conservatives something to cheer about as the choir thundered to the preachers and the preachers shouted out from the housetops. So let us be clear to a Christian America that would otherwise be cynical and standoffish: You bet there is a country worth saving. Get off your high-fructose corn syrup and work with the remnant to save it."

America, my friends, is still the light of the world and will continue to have it as long as one decent person remains alive to keep her light shining through the night.

(Shhhhhhhh! Don't provoke the wrath of the unappeasables!)

Ahemmm. Everything's OK, people. Nothing to worry about.
Now look at the picture. Look at the nice man in the picture.
