Sounds like the Israeli govt. is getting serious about confronting Hamas - this paves the way to some very serious steps. Hope Condi Rice and the Euros don’t manage to muck things up, just when Israel needs to kick Hamas around hard.
I think Israel is showing its neighbors it has its mojo back.
The serious problem is in the north with Hezbollah and Syria.
The action in Gaza is a sideshow. The best way to defend against Hamas is to put them out of action by cutting off their utilities.
The main effort and troops can be moved elsewhere once Gaza is contained.
