Yes it does. Absolutely.
I was not blessed with children, but once was working with someone that had a Down's syndrome baby that was in his grade school years. She said if she had known he was a Down's syndrome child, (I guess they did testing, but for some reason it did not show up.) she would have aborted. Can you imagine saying that about a child one has spent time with, held, gave birth to? She was still angry about it calling it the doctor's fault.
I found this woman to be one of the sickest, horrendous, unhappy person I have ever met (and I have met a lot of them). It was all about her and still long after the birth it was still all about her and how she had been inconvenienced. Very sad. My heart went out to her child. Even in prison they hate child killers.
I’ve known people with Down’s and yes there are difficulties for their parents, but they are as loving as anyone you will ever meet.
