The primary threat from 93L will be heavy rain, and the northern Gulf Coast from the Florida Panhandle to Texas border can expect a soaking from this system. Save minor beach erosion and a few banged up docks, this system will prolly be a net benefit to the Southeast US. We need the rain. But you'll never hear these words uttered by the WX channel or inAccuWeather's JB.

"Whatever this thing is, its moving W at 10 mph. Recon is scheduled to fly at 12:30PM EDT." See the radar in post #11. It is beginning to 'churn' just off the west coast of Florida.
I just finished cutting my grass and tidying up the yard in case it comes here.

We're expecting to get a nice long period of rain along the Central West FL coast, coming from the south. Air is still dead calm. The stronger outer band is further east in South Central FL.
There is still a whole lot of dry air in the system.

Statement as of 11:30 am EDT on September 20, 2007
Surface observations indicate that a weak low pressure area has
formed in the eastern Gulf of Mexico in association with an
upper-level low. Shower activity with this non-tropical system
remains limited and disorganized. However...this system has the
potential to acquire subtropical characteristics later today or
tomorrow as it moves west-northwestward over the warm waters of the
Gulf of Mexico. An Air Force Reserve unit reconnaissance aircraft
is scheduled to monitor the system this afternoon. All interests
along the northern Gulf Coast should monitor the progress of this
system.

A reconnaissance aircraft investigating the are of low pressure in

115 miles west-southwest of St. Petersburg Florida. The aircraft
will continue to investigate the low this afternoon...but there are

It’s barely sprinkling down at this end of town. It’s looked threatening all day, someo wind, but no rain so far.

Yes, the lawn was looking scrawny the past few days. Lawn boys just finished mowing about an hour ago.

Off topic, but I have to share this icky story...
Noticed the pool vacuum was clogged this afternoon. It's usually a clump of leaves or a piece of tile. Per usual, I just reach down underneath and pull it out...today I firmly grasped a furry body...Eeeek!
It was a dead mole. Blech! Tossed him into the canal, threw some extra chlorine into the pool.

That mole has been digging tunnels in the yard all summer. I don’t know what caused him to drown in the pool.

Guess he was thirsty.
If only he decided to get a drink before digging,....
