Bush calls for continued diplomacy on Iran

WASHINGTON, 20 (UPI) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's actions and France's talk about a possibility of war with Iran are taken seriously, U.S. President George Bush said.

Responding during a Thursday news conference to a question about the French foreign minister's remark that the international community should prepare for war in the event that Iran acquires nuclear weaponry, Bush said the focus should be on diplomatic solutions.

"I have consistently stated I am hopeful we can convince the Iranian regime into giving up" developing a weapons program by countries exerting diplomatic pressure and through peaceful means, Bush said. He said the United States and its friends and allies have tried to press the consistent message to Iran that "there is a better way forward than isolation ... and that the free world is not going to tolerate" provocative actions and talk.

Bush said he also understood why New York police denied permission for Ahmadinejad -- "running a country that's a state sponsor for terror" -- to place a wreath at Ground Zero while in New York next week.

Let’s see if I can remember the quote right...here goes;

“You are either with us or you are with the terrorists.”

Did I get it right Mr. President?

But really, this is MY problem. I took you at your word, Sir. I believed you.

More fool me!

You’re talking about a man with the courage to fight a war many did not approve of. And he’s been proven right.

And just because YOU want a war with Iran, this brave man is wrong.

President Bush has been right almost every time since he’s been in the WH. Give him some credit. He’s the one who gets the reports on what’s going on every single morning. You don’t.

Yup, this worthless diplomacy bullshit should continue right up until the bombs are falling.

2,000 targets. Each B-2 servicing 16 of them means 320 will be gone before they even know the war has started. Then the B-1s and the F-15Es. Two days for BDA and follow up strikes.

Hope we get some of the Gulf States to participate just for show.

Let's see if Syria really will come to Iran's aid.

Bush said the focus should be on diplomatic solutions.

Only if diplomacy means saying "nice doggy" while you look around for a rock.

Exactly.

Lots of preparation is needed to get the party favors ready.

Meanwhile we converse pleasantly until its time for the
delivery to commence.

But really, this is MY problem. I took you at your word, Sir. I believed you.

Bush is doing the exact right thing -- he is lulling the Iranians to sleep, allowing them to expose themselves (militarily and nuclear related).

All the while we (the US) are coordinating, moving munitions around inside Iraq (bordering Iran), redeploying aircraft carriers, and putting the final touches on a big surprise.

Besides, what would you rather Pres. Bush say?

"OK, get ready you Mooslimbs. We're a comin' anytime now!"

Nah.

If GWB issued any type of warning, Iran would be building and solidifying their defenses, which would make it THAT much harder for us to accomplish the big surprise ... that I am sure is coming.
