No. An emphatic no.
Dr. Savage IMO was "called" to do something and he's done a damn fine job. I've listened since 1995 and caught virtually every hour since.
What was he called to do? Well for one to show that conservatives didn't have to cower and apologize when the left screamed insulting language. The right could return it in kind++.
I've been listening to radio since the 1940s. There's been nothing like Savage except for perhaps Joe Pyne and I only knew him through his short-lived TV show; but he was very big on radio until attacks and health problems ended his career.
Many conservative hosts today fight back and Savage has proved that they can keep their jobs without fear of being kicked off the air.
Perhaps Dr. Savage should seriously consider retiring. He's done what He asked Dr. Savage to do. IMO.
I think that you are correct. It reminds me of when I had a government job for a few years. Pretty common there.
Again, he's earned it IMO but I really prefer a fill-in but perhaps the thinking is that new listeners should hear a recording of the real thing.
I’m pretty sure the stations don’t like it when he does this. Dunno how the contracts are written, but I am sure the Doc doesn’t get as much money for re-runs, full or partial.
