WASHINGTON, Sept. 20, 2007 U.S. goals for progress in Iraq have not changed, but the timeline has been set back in order to achieve those goals, President Bush said here today.
Bush said the original goal of turning security control over to Iraqis in all 18 of the countrys provinces by November has been delayed because progress has been slower than originally estimated. Still, he said, Iraqi control of the countrys provinces is an important step in denying al Qaeda and other extremist groups free movement in the region. |

There for a minute I thought he was talking about the buffoons in our own Congress. What chance they'll actually pass a spending bill Pres. Bush won't have to veto? What legislation have they passed in the past 10 months which actually benefits the American people? What are they doing other than posturing and posing and kissing up to their anti-war, anti-American loonies?
Sorry; bit off topic here. Pres. Bush is rubbing the cut-and-run crowd's noses in it. We won't surrender to the terrorists; we will stay until the job is done. We pray for the safety of our troops and for the success of their mission.
Bush will stretch out involvement in
Iraq as long as he can.
The Democrats are cheering.
