Woman Sues, Says Anti-Immigrant Sentiment Hurt Son
NBC 5 (Chicago) ^ | September 21, 2007

CHICAGO -- A Mexican immigrant filed a $30 million federal lawsuit against suburban Carpentersville, claiming paramedics denied her son care because of anti-immigrant sentiment in the village.

Gloria Lopez, 28, said on Sept. 18, 2006, she left her son, Osbiel, then 4 months old, with a baby sitter who didn't speak English.

The baby sitter, Esther Carrera, called 911 when the baby had trouble breathing. But fire department paramedics allegedly said the boy was having stomach problems and gave her a form to sign declining care, which Carrera didn't understand, according to the lawsuit filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Chicago.

Lopez's attorney Ted Karavidas said Carrera noticed hours later that the baby was blue and called 911. Different village paramedics arrived and took the baby to the hospital, where a tube was inserted into his throat and he was treated for infection, Karavidas said.

That's her own negligence.

The “immigrant card” is getting as popular as the “race card”. Paramedics aren’t doctors and do occasionally misdiagnose a patient’s condition, but politically correct hysteria will turn every incident into a federal case, literally.

It does not say whether she’s a legal or illegal immigrant. If she’s illegal she’s spitting in the wind as far as a lawsuit goes.

Nothing to see here, show’s over folks, move along, clear the streets.

Karavidas declined to say if Lopez was in the U.S. legally. Her son is a U.S. citizen.

Uh huh. Illegal immigrant with anchor baby finds lawyer willing to help her bypass lotto and collect the jackpot anyway.

FTA: “ More than 40 percent of the village’s 37,000 residents are Hispanic.”

IMHO, 12 million is WAY too low an estimate.

Why do I have to push one for “English” in my own country, if only 10% of our total population is here illegally?

Why do I have to search through instruction manuals for “English”?

Why is it mandatory for teachers to speak Spanish?

Hillary will require all Americans to have health insurance and learn to speak Spanish.

>>If she’s illegal she’s spitting in the wind as far as a lawsuit goes.<<

With all due respect, no she is not, “spitting in the wind”. Illegal immigrants get free legal representation, and their lawyers are very sharp. They win more times than they lose.

Do a google using the words “Illegal immigrants win lawsuits”. You will get almost 2 million pages.

Remember the ranchers who lost their ranch to illegals?

You don’t leave your four month old child with a babysitter who does not speak the language of the country you are in. The mother feels guilty , so she wants to blame someone else. Another reason to seal that border.

“It does not say whether she’s a legal or illegal immigrant.”

The article described her as an “immigrant” and “Karavidas (her lawyer) declined to say if Lopez was in the U.S. legally. Her son is a U.S. citizen.”

If nothing else, we’ve learned to read MSM code; I think it’s safe to assume that she’s an illegal alien (”Lopez”: Norwegian?) and her kid is an anchor baby.

Here’s my standard post. Plus I’m pinging BCSCO for the AFIRE ping list.

RICO —Citizen Recourse

Private persons and entities may initiate civil suits to obtain injunctions and treble damages against enterprises that conspire to or actually violate federal alien smuggling, harboring, or document fraud statutes, under the Racketeer-Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO). The pattern of racketeering activity is defined as commission of two or more of the listed crimes. A RICO enterprise can be any individual legal entity, or a group of individuals who are not a legal entity but are associated in fact, and can include nonprofit associations.

Here’s what I’ve been pushing: it’s time to file Racketeering, Influencing, and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) lawsuits.

RICO lawyers could turn it around in a few years and MAKE MONEY at the same time. I’m surprised they haven’t done it already.

In the absence of enforcement, we can get the word out in the meantime that there is money to be made in filing RICO lawsuits against employers who hire illegal aliens like this jerk.

Employers would have no trouble shutting down the border if they could get sued by someone under the RICO statutes for hiring these people in the first place. The next time an illegal alien kills someone in a drunk driving accident or somesuch thing, I’m going to point out that the victim’s family might be able to seek compensation from the employer under these statutes in the hopes that it would catch on. If this did catch on, would see such a swift backlash against illegal immigration that no employer would go near these people and they’ll all simply want to go back home.
