I’ve seen (full-length video of; not present personally) Fred speak on a number of occasions. At his best, he is probably the best speaker out there. At his worst, he is soporific. Generally, when he is well-prepared / not tired, it’s the former.

Where did you get this idea? I've been to two events and I know of no one who was disappointed. I know of two who switched from Tancredo to Fred after his speech at the Iowa State Fair.
