TEHRAN (PIN) -- Iranian and Spanish legislators explored ways to expand cooperation on different energy sectors including oil, gas, and renewable energies.

A delegation of Iranian Majlis’ energy commission held talks with the head of Industry and Energy Commission of Spain’s congress in Madrid.

The two sides expressed readiness for expansion of parliamentarian cooperation and exchange of parliamentarian delegations in presence of Iran’s Ambassador to Madrid Davud Salehi.

The Spanish MP pointed to the special status of Iran in the Middle East, saying that Iran is an important and influential country in the region and plays a key role in supplying global energy needs.

The members of Iranian parliament’s energy commission are on a one-week tour to visit Spanish energy facilities.

MP Hossein Afarideh told IRNA that although the U.S. imposes sanctions on Iran over its peaceful nuclear program, Spanish companies were ready to cooperate with Iran in the fields of civilian nuclear program and energy generation within the framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regulations.

He noted that the cooperation will be in the fields of technical supports and training manpower to be employed in peaceful nuclear program.

Nuclear power plants account for supply of 20 percent of Spain’s electricity needs, and the country has experience and abilities in this respect

Thanks for comment, Eric. I posted three articles like the one above to show readers what we’re missing in western media. Most of our media companies try to make Iran appear to be benign or potentially friendly. And a few foreign identity lobbies and propaganda groups in America try really hard to make their motherlands look like strong allies.

So...the news that we’ve been missing.
