They may not have had to if the girl was 18...

The article says “she is 18” but doesn’t say her age @ time of the abortion.

Infer - the abortion facility knew about their relationship because he signed for her abortion. Planned Parenthood (assuming the facility) is notorious for being party to covering up sex related crimes.

But the article says he signed papers on her behalf to get it, so it seems that in some capacity under FL law, she had to have an adult sign. Since it happened “last year” I think we can safely assume she was 17 at the time.
