According to the History Channel, it’s the equivalent of $1.50/gallon...compared to $3.00/gallon of gas.

Would people who spend 100k on a car seriously be worried about saving $1.50/gallon on gas?

No, but it's not the cost of gas that they are concerned with. The adoration and envy of their "friends" and associates, peer approval, is their primary "driving force". I'm a good person. I have an electric sports car. I spent 100K to help save the planet........you get the picture........

Sure, why not? One reason a lot of people accumulate wealth is the fact they “conserve” it.

I have met multi-millionaires that live very cost conscious lifestyles. Ten year old vehicles, etc.

Some young highly successful buyers will combine environmental concern with low cost operation. Theoretically.
