Shoaib Malik is one of the numerous Pakistani cricketers who are followers of the the ‘Tablighi Jamaat’,a hardline Islamic group,which calls itself a purely Muslim organisation.The TJ were held responsible for Pakistan’s poor performance earlier this year as players were engaged in prayers & speaking programmes instead of practising.This is in addition to the claim that former Pakistani cricket coach Bob Woolmer was killed over his opposition to the TJ’s influence.
