I think Lincoln was a good man who had to make hard choices for a good cause, the cause being the survival of the free government bequeathed by the Founders.

I think Jefferson Davis was a good man who had to make hard choices for a bad cause, the cause being the thoughtless destruction of free government bequeathed by the Founders, a destruction undertaken for the political and economic benefit of a narrow class of slaveowners.

Then that man would be Lincoln not Davis that destroyed the Nation created by the Founding Fathers that believed in the plural not singular United States of America.
