Typical light-water reactor designs require low-enriched uranium.

US Navy propulsion reactors, as I understand it, use highly-enriched, bomb-grade uranium.

The CANDU heavy-water design can use un-enriched uranium, but has a drawback for nuclear proliferation due to the fact that fuel can be pushed through the core on any schedule, permitting the fuel to be pulled out when plutonium content has peaked without shutting down the reactor. That’s how India got their nukes as I recall, from a CANDU-type system.
