Sorry - my statement concerning the 'deadbeats' stealing from the taxpayers was NOT in reference to those (which includes me) taking advantage of the various deductions in the tax code. It was, instead, in reference to the regressive tax rate that puts a large proportional burden on the earners in this country while letting the deadbeats and slackers get by without paying their fair share (or worse, by giving the lazy "earned-income credit").
In other words, the stealing occurs when government takes a higher proportion of the income from half the working population and uses it to buy the votes of the other half.
