(LOS ANGELES, CA, 9/27/07) – On September 28, imams (prayer leaders) of a number of Southern California’s largest mosques will denounce terrorism during their Friday “khutbas,” or sermons. The imams will reiterate the need for Muslims in America and abroad to stand on the side of justice and peace, and against violence.

The sermons are particularly significant because they are being given during the month-long Ramadan fast.
“Too often, Islamic sermons condemning terrorism receive little or no attention, leading to the misperception that mosques are places that breed religious extremism,” said Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi, religious director of the Islamic Center of Orange County and the chairman of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California. “The month of Ramadan provides an excellent opportunity for us to come together and give a united voice to the peaceful teachings promulgated by Islam and to share a message of goodwill with our friends and neighbors throughout the Southland.”
Speaking to thousands of worshippers, the imams’ Ramadan message will stress respect for the sanctity of life, rejection of violence and will encourage worshipers to act as agents of peace and goodwill in their local communities.
The imams will also call on Muslims to reach out to their neighbors and co-workers to build friendships and promote mutual understanding during Ramadan and throughout the year.
"We applaud this positive initiative by the imams and hope that such coordinated efforts will spread around the nation and the world,” said Munira Syeda, communications coordinator for the Greater Los Angeles Area chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA).
Why is there a barf alert on this? Terror as a tactic will not go away no matter how many of them we kill. We need their religious leaders to end it, because we sure as hell are not going to kill them all.
Why barf? If this is true then it is a good thing. To really defeat terror we need to win muslims over to ourside. We need the power of moderate muslims.

You think they (the imams) are talking about “justice and peace” and so forth as YOU understand it, but you are reading INTO their WORDS what you WANT to read into them!
What you THINK the imams mean by these nice sounding words (peace, justice, etc)is NOT what you think they mean by these nice sounding words!

OK, I’ll give you a hint.
According to the teachings of Islam there will only be “peace” and “justice” when ALL(infidels)are converted and become Muslims under Islamic rule — as outlined in the Karon.
Well Muslims have this thing that says that lying to a “kafir” is perfectly acceptable. We are the “kafir” or sometimes spelled kafar. So in their minds lying to us is justified. Therefore WE can’t trust them to say what they really mean. Its sad because I am sure many are tired of the bs and just want to get on with their lives . But then you have a large population that truly will not rest until they kill us or convert us. IMO you never really know what they are thinking or what they are saying is true. Hopefully they are being honest this time & will denounce terrorism during their Friday sermons. But I am not counting on it.
There should be NO Muslims in the western hemisphere.

The correct statement would be:

These “peace” loving people are using our word “peace” in substituion of the word “submission” when explaining their goals for our communities. Islam is a religion of SUBMISSION (NOT PEACE).
