WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday that every child born in the United States should get a $5,000 "baby bond" from the government to help pay for future costs of college or buying a home. Clinton, her party's front-runner in the 2008 race, made the suggestion during a forum hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus

Conservatives have children because they love them and want families.
Liberals can not be bothered to-it doesn’t fit in with their “lifestyles” and the women are all afraid they won’t get their anorexic heroin junkie with big plastic boobs look back.
Now Hillary wants us all to pay for the “Roe effect” to try to bribe LLL’s to breed.

A lot of people would have more kids, if it was more affordable. It’s not just liberals that respond to market forces, in fact I’d think that conservatives would respond even more.
Hill’s intent might be more young libs, but just the opposite would happen.

Por favor, Oprime Número Dos Para Español:Since most of the babies born will soon be Hispanics, this message follows:
¡Bienvenidos y Felicidades,
Amigos del Sur de la Frontera!
¡El gobierno de los Estados Unidos de Aztlán automaticamente les ofrecerá
Cinco Mil dólares ($5,000.00)
al nacimiento de su próximo hijo!
Documentación opcional.Hillary meant to add (I am sure) that the parents must be legally married. But then again, this would discriminate against sodomitic couples who wish to adopt, or lesbian couples who can adopt or select artificial insemination.
Perhaps to encourage marriage, unmarried parents would only be offered a piano, or a set of snow tires upon the birth of the bastard. God, I can't wait for Hillary to take over!

That's what I was thinking.
For anchor babies, that equates to 54,565 pesos.
Andale!

Nothing like pandering to the masses.....buying votes is a beautiful thing....
One would be better served spending this money on programs that support Marriage....The impact of a dual parent household far outweighs a one time 5K check....
But what do I know....I refuse to believe Bush is the Hitler of our times....

College is already delivering too little value, at an wildly unaffordable price, and offering too small an ROI.I totally agree.

I believe that one of the Republican candidates supported this in the debate last night - at least the apology part.

The government never gave an American money without strings. Not to mention that it's our money to begin with - the government doesn't produce anything or earn income -it appropriates it.

At about 4% for an I US Savings Bond (current 3.74%), in 18 years the $5,000 goes to $10,199.44 when redeemed for tax-free purposes such as education.
