Man! Wish I didn’t have to go to work...in a place that
doesn’t allow me access to the internet.
Thanks for the heads-up anyway. Maybe I can catch the
re-broadcast later today.
Sure hate for Pace to “retire”.
My BFF Lisa had her wedding dress made out of it...oatmeal colored...INcredible!!!
Just read the crawl while watching the morning news....KIDS ARE GOING TO BE BRINGING THEIR RED WAGONS TO THE WHITE HOUSE TO TRY TO GET W NOT TO VETO THE S-CHIP BILL. TOOOOOOOOOOOO much! Sheeesh. Dems will even take kids out of school for their causes....so sad.
Thanks for the head’s up, DrDeb!
I was upset when Gen. Meyers got "retired" after two terms. Heck, Colin Powell got three terms, why not Gen. Meyers. He was outstanding imo.
HOORAH GENERAL PACE
I stand by feeling the need to defend myself but am willing to have my post removed if it will put the Dose back where it belongs.
But I’m not gonna be the one to push the remove buttons.
I’m kind & sweet too btw...& kitkat and or anyone who doesn’t know so especially since my Dec. 06 request I made...needs to know that about me too.
& another btw... I don’t think Daisy did anything wrong either...I only included her in my pings about it to explain my side of things.
The behind the back mention was in reference to how some, not necessarily kitkat(and never Daisy) have treated me since said Dec.o6 request I made...not necessarily kitkat’s post.
It was meant as part of my explaination is all.
Do what needs be done to get The Dose back in the right place Admin Moderator, please/thank you.
I just LOVE the irridescent varieties of the coral/pink/peach/ gold fabric that changes colors .. but all the irridescent combos are really gorgeous.
If you sew or buy the yardage and have a seamstress sew your garment, silk can be lightly washed before sewing, and then it will always be able to be washed. A sample should be tested first, as some may slightly fade.

Looking at Laura Bush’s brown gown again, I’m not totally
sure it is dupioni .. not seeing the fine lines, but that could be the camera distance.

Laura Bush uses silk taffeta and silk dupioni quite a bit at the White House and in her elegant dressy clothing.

“The luncheon is a tradition at the White House. Spouses sitting at 11 tables covered in
bright pink silk dupioni
dined on vichyssoise, grilled tuna, summer squash salad and other courses served on china from six administrations.”

Lynn Cheney seems to be a fan of silk dupioni as well

To me...it IS the fabric I would LOVE to be known for always wearing. It has such understated elegance with a fantastic appearance and feel. So rich, AND, like I said before...romantic...it's the only silk where two silk worms share the same cocoon ';->
P.S. Lynne’s must think alike ;-)
Naw it's alright
LOL, I won't tell you how long I spent on getting it up and preparing it. It's too embarassing, lol. I am wondering if I have bitten off more than I can chew? My respect for you and the regular posters has always been high but it has certainly gone up a few more notches.
Ha ha, I won't tell you either how long it takes me to prepare mine. It'll get easier with time. I still make mistakes sometimes and I have noticed I can not use my Opera browser for the ping list. It just won't work. So I just use Firefox. I have not tried to use it with Internet Explorer because I had the IE7 version and that would shut down all the time. I have now the IE6 version back again which works so much better
I agree with you. “silent_jonny” is amazing. The other drawings on his page were equally amazing.
We are blessed with Silent Jonny's amazing talent and this is one the best portraits of Bush I have ever seen..without exception.

The baby is my favorite. And your "kitty" could be a twin of my own.
I stand in awe of your talent. Thank you!
