Well that didn't work out well for them. Seriously though, pacifists are the worst sorts of people. Anyone who believes that nothing is worth fighting for deserve everything that happens to them.

To not kill another living thing is one of the pillars of Buddhism. To take up arms you would be asking them to violate one of the most sacred parts of the religion.
Because of samsara (the cycle of continual reincarnation) death isn’t that big a deal. To kill another is.
To a devout Buddhist, such a thing is worth dying for.
