Granholm still thinks she can tax Michigan to prosperity. Very sad for the state.

A joint House-Senate committee voted 4-2 for the income tax bill,
which raises the rate from 3.9 percent to 4.35 percent and then
gradually rolls back the rate starting in 2011.
The tax would return to 3.9 percent by 2015.

Suuure, when monkeys fly out blah blah blah.

Out here in CA we're getting all kinds of radio ads soliciting business and implying tax breaks.

Does she think these guys won't do their homework before making a move?

I dunno....

When you read the last few paragraphs of the story it doesn’t sound like anything is going to get passed anytime soon. I suspect that this report is from a liberal Democrat shill (ie., a Detroit newspaper) with an agenda to make things look like the Republicans have finally been worn down and seen the light and therefore might as well “do the right thing” (ie., join the scumbag Democrats in passing massive tax hikes).

I hope there are energetic conservative activists in Michigan who have recall petitions prepared and ready to launch for any Republican who votes with Granholm and the other scumbags.

By the way, did you notice there wasn’t a word about spending cuts in the whole story?

‘soliciting business’

We do have a number of things here where we are #1

#1 in unemployment of the 50 states
#1 in home foreclosures
#1 in emigration

Actually the Detroit News is the conservative paper, the Free Press a liberal paper. However-due to a joint operating agreement and both beng owned by Gannett, their just about the same except for the editorial page.
