A seminar on border security, the proposed fence between the United States and Mexico, and challenges to the community is scheduled Wednesday at the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College.
The event will be from 6 to 9 p.m. in the lecture hall of the Science, Engineering and Technology Building.
Mayor Pat M. Ahumada Jr is the keynote speaker and will join a panel of experts including various scholars and community leaders from the U.S. and Mexico. Panelists will represent UTB-TSC, the Brownsville Independent School District, local, county, state and federal governments, higher education institutions in Mexico and other agencies, according to a news release on the event.
A question and answer session will follow the panelists remarks.
