Pleasant surprise: Scarborough sets record straight on Media Matters smear of Rush Limbaugh. Ping to Today show list.

Too bad only several hundred viewers saw it.

I just heard about this whole thing in the last 8 hours and I gotta say, if the story is accurate as Scarborough reports it, the Democrats have sunk to a new low even for them. Obvious payback for the “Betrayus” thing, and a sign that they’re easily rattled. It’s sadly hilarious hearing Harry Reid talking about patriotism and the brave troops, isn’t it?

Let us not forget that Hillary claims ownership of Media Matters - and repeated that claim at the "yearly kooks" conference

Trying to smear a guy who has 20 million listeners who know better is worse than desperate, its stupid. They not only can't run the country right they can't even figure out simple politics.

Thanks for the report...Fox & Friends has barely touched the story this morning. Two lightweight women debated (or screamed) about Media Matters and the Great One’s remarks about their tax status. Waiting in the green room is Annie Coulter...and it’s back to the breathless reporting on Britney.

Glad to see Joe Scarborough being the voice of reason. I thought it was too late and he had gone over to the dark side. We need more of this from Joe and others in the media.

The MSM seem circumspect (all of a sudden).
Folks, imagine a world with a "Fairness Doctrine," the way it was long ago when I was younger. A time when the MSM would be reporting the Dems' attacks on Rush. A time when the MSM were the gatekeepers of "news" and issues.
Thanks to the new media the truth is racing around the world ahead of the Dem lies.

Bonus Coverage -- Joe Suggests He Might Have Been Too Tough on O'Reilly: It was something of a day for setting the record straight at "Morning Joe." Before turning to the Media Matters smear, Scarborough harkened back to his harsh criticism [documented
here and
here] of Bill O'Reilly for the "Factor" host's comments about "Sylvia's" Harlem restaurant.
SCARBOROUGH: Media Matters went after Bill O'Reilly, and I just have to put a little asterisk here, I went after Bill pretty hard too, because I thought what he said was ridiculous. But I heard a lot of people this weekend, like liberals, on the Upper West Side, as I was walking up and down Broadway, you know, people smoking dope, saying "hey Scarborough, I think you're being a little tough on O'Reilly."
GEIST: Really?
SCARBOROUGH: Yeah, I did, I did, I seriously -- and some people around here saying it may have been blown out of proportion. I don't know.
Mika could be heard in the background uttering a skeptical "ehhh." She's clearly sticking with the bash-Bill brigade.

During all this, the normally voluble Mika Brzezinski stayed silent as the Sphinx. Later, when Joe displayed the cover of New York magazine showing Bill Clinton as a "First Lady," Mika suddenly found her voice, wanting viewers to understand that "it's a joke, it's a joke," adding that Bill "will be much more than a First Lady." I will not forget the week of Sept. 11, 2001 - the day that President Bush was standing on The Pile, with the first responders, William the Impeached was twenty blocks north, pressing flesh with the women in the crowd, feeling their... pain.
The newsblonde on NPR was having an on-the-air orgasm about how wonderful it was to have a passionate President, still referring to Willie in the present tense.
I guess this Brzezinski wench is no different.

I think this "story" has lost it's steam before it's even begun.
As of 2007-1002-09:35ET, it is NOT featured on CNN, ABC, MSNBC, CBS, C-SPAN, WaPo, or NYT websites front page.
