An asteroid named for an actor who played a fictional character in a TV space show.
How gay is that? ;)

I’m ok with this. Takei is a cool name.
Some names work better than others for asteroids, and Takei is a good one. Also “Nimoy”, “Shatner”. And (changing genre slightly) there should be a “Hamill”, a “Fisher” etc

I was blown away He was pretty pleased about having an asteroid named after him too.

(The problem with bad ideas is that they seemed like good ideas at the time.)

So what? My sister had a whole STAR named after me last year!
But if Sulu is happy over having a little piece of a blown up planet, then good for him. Congrats, George Takeaguy.
