What do your friends think about the radicals?
After 9/11, they went out into the community to talk about it and try to sooth some of the anti-muslim angst that was out there. They soundly condemned the attacks.
How do they treat you?
The same as my Christian friends.
How long have they been in the US? Did they convert to islam or where they raised by islamic families?
Friend A was born here and converted, Friend B was born overseas. SIL was born and raised in Turkey, still living there so I can't pick her brain too much, but she married a Christian man (my BIL) and her family didn't stone her for it.
And finally, how much do you know about the koran?
Not a blessed thing, I'll admit. Perhaps I'll pick on up and read it on the train while I commute in to work. That ought to raise some eyebrows!
Thanks for your questions.
Thanks for your answers Sandy.
Please do learn about the Koran. There are many troubling passages in it, but the same can be said for the Bible, especially the Old Testament.
There’s plenty of prejudice to be found everywhere - Christian, Muslim, Wiccian, etc. I treat folks the same as they treat me.
My only worry is there are many radical Muslims who want nothing more than to kill anyone who doesn’t think the same way they do. Then again, liberals tend to fall into that same category.
Thanks again for answering my questions Sandy. Please do learn about the Koran and what is teaches. Knowledge is power, that’s why I read this forum.
