Designer Anand Jon faces new rape charges LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - California officials unsealed new rape charges against celebrity fashion designer Anand Jon on Thursday, bringing the number of women he is accused of raping or sexually assaulting to 20.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - California officials unsealed new rape charges against celebrity fashion designer Anand Jon on Thursday, bringing the number of women he is accused of raping or sexually assaulting to 20.

Jon, 33, who once appeared on television show "America's Next Top Model," is accused of luring women back to Los Angeles to work as models and then attacking them. He has been charged with 59 counts of raping or sexually assaulting women between the ages of 14 and 27.

In June, the celebrity designer faced 46 counts involving 18 women. The new charges came after a September grand jury hearing that involved 23 witnesses, the Los Angeles County District Attorney said in a statement.

Jon is being held in a Los Angeles jail, and the District Attorney's office said it will ask for a bail amount of $5.1 million at an arraignment scheduled for October 25.

Defense attorney Anthony Brooklier said he believed the alleged victims had collaborated against Jon.

"We think that there was collusion," Brooklier said. "We think this is made up whole-cloth, the entire case."

Jon also is under investigation in Dallas and Houston, Texas, as well as New York and Massachusetts.

California prosecutors claim the Indian-born designer is a serial rapist, and charges against him include forcible rape, sexual battery, sexual penetration by a foreign object and sodomy by use of force, among numerous others. (snip)

Wow! he's 4-times more accomplished than impeached former president clinton.

and finally another that is a barf alert to be honest, but kind of shows where the misguided are headed with this fight. The angle will be, he’s just a poor nice brown person and they are trying to make it look like he raped these nice white girls. When the shoe fits, wear it! It’s the opposite of the duke case in a way, this guy’s guilty, but there’s gonna be an attempt to portray these girls as liars. just wait and see how this circus unfolds. My quesrion is, who’s gonna ask Hillary why her campaign manager was here??????

Nope. Bill is actively running for First Lady, so he's off the table.

But what folks do is put their own title in parenthesis next to it, if there is room.

Never heard of the guy, but a search engine kicked up an interview of him. He doesn’t use fur, but he is OK with leather (as the whole animal is consumed).

Looks like he regards and treats animals better than humans, or more specifically, the human female. Yeah, it’s a frameup just like his lawyer claims, and he is presumed innocent. But I don’t have to suspend belief and reason, I am not on the jury.

Trying to get 20 women to agree and 'collaborate' on anything would be a nothing short of a miracle....especially models trying to claw their way to the top! LOL! :o)

Seriously though, people in the Biz have known about this perv for awhile. I am glad he is getting his just reward.

One down and about 100 more to go.....

The most astonishing thing to me is that he actually had to force anyone. In Hollywood, I thought all a man had to do was cut a few lines of coke on the mirror and aspiring actresses and models would be on their knees.

I read the article. The event was not to support this alleged rapist. Don’t get me wrong, I detest McAuliffe, but misstating facts is not the FReeper way.

Leave those tactics to the Democrat party hacks. Guilt by association is their speciality.

Wrong. His innocence was a MJOW factor in this event. In a National Newspaper called India Abroad, the headline is, “Glitterati turn out in style to support Anand Jon.”

The first paragraph starts, “Models wearing signs saying We support Anand Jon participated in a fashion show at the Beverly Hilton” later in the piece says Sanjana Jon organized the event and there was a 10 minute video presentation about her brother portraying him as a great guy. This is not some sideshow. It is the theme of the event, now it could be they did not know the event was going to be about a man charged with rape, but once the show started, they had no concern what-so-ever that they are there showing solidarity with this guy?

You can turn a blind ear, but this is damning, as it should be. John and Ken in LA mentioned they have pics with Anand Jon, Hillary and Tony Villar as well as Terry McAuliffe with kids wearing t-shirts that say, We Support Anand Jon. C’mon, are you kidding me?

Exactly. Here's the meat and potatoes of the speech he gave at the event. A part of me thinks this may be against campaign-finance rules for him to speak specifically about Democrats & Republicans at an event for a non-profit organization. hmmm?

McAuliffe, who received an award for is contribution to the Indo-American community, and Mayor Villaraigosa, both had enthusiastic praise for Kaul's work with the FOSAAC. "Kevin Kaul has been a wonderful mobilizer of the South Asian community and it's really great," said Mayor Villaraigosa to the gathering.

McAuliffe echoed the LA mayor's praise calling Kaul a "rising star" in the South Asian community(read - Democratic community, Indian Republicans know he is a fraud). Copies of McAuliffe's new book, What A Party, My Life Among Democrats, Presidents, Donors, Activists, Alligators, and Other Wild Animals was distributed to attendees of the night free of charge from Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Kaul. The book is a must read for fundraisers who have ever felt like they were pulling a ball and chain up a brick wall.

In it McAuliffe frankly shares his experiences of raising money for Democrats for over twenty five years, as well as being DNC chairman. As probably one of the most successful men in his field he makes no bones about selling ideas, stating that you really have to believe in what you're selling, and if you've been "above board" about doing it, you have nothing to hide. Over the years McAuliffe has literally wrestled with alligators to raise money, sung onstage (quite badly he admits) and sometimes made 200 calls a day to raise funds.

The book paints a fairly dark picture of the Republicans and the recent administration, claiming that years from historical perspective will reveal just how incompetently as well as duplicitously the Bush administration has lead the US. The main sponsor's of the event were Dr Prem Reddy, Chairman of the Board of Prime HealthCare Inc., Shiv Grewal, Senior Partner at Straddling, Yocca, Carlson and Rauth, Hamilton Brewart, CEO of Hamilton Brewart Insurance Inc., Dave Katragadda, Chairman of the Seven Hills Group USA LLC, and Gurbax Bhasin, CEO of Prego Inc.

Obviously, if McAuliffe saw the fashion show he surely must have wondered who Anand Jon was. Shouldn’t he then have avoided having his picture taken with someone wearing one of the t-shirts?

I know Villar was watching the fashion show. That’s beyond any reasonable doubt.

Villar is good buddies with Kevin Kaul, who is a big Democratic bundker a la Norman Hsu. Villar was the Master of Ceremonies at the 2006 Indian Independence day event that took place in downtown LA around August 15th, so there’s a relationship there for sure.

I'd be the last person to defend anyone involved with the former First Grifter couple from Arkansas, but just how does someone rape 18 women without being a suspect after say, the first half dozen women he raped?

None of the 18 women reported him to the police after he attacked them?

I'm not saying he isn't a scumbag asshat, but someone doesn't quite add up here or am missing some important information.

From what I read, in Dallas, a young girl’s father contacted the Beverly Hills PD, after they arrested him, many other girls came out of the woodwork. I agree, it is shadey, and perhaps there are even a couple that are making it up, but 20? Where there is smoke there is always fire, and I can also confidently say that I know this guy’s type. He’s been spoilt his whole life, eldest son, apple of many women’s eye, it is just a breeding ground for a man that does not respect American women. I would be shocked if even one of the women he raped is Indian. They will all be American women, because you just can’t get away with that with most Indian women. They’ll scratch your eyes out if you tried to get in their pants.

Guys like Anand Jon, and I can tell you from experience, there are many of them, only do ‘charity’ work if it coincides with a photo op. He is the slime of the earth, and although his sister and mom, who I feel bad for, must be going through a hard time, they will never put themselves in the position of thinking about what if, what if one of those girls was their daughter or sister. Just doesn;t occur to them. Their son/brother is a good guy and all 20 of those girls are lying biatches as far as they are concerned, and there are many in the Indian community that will side with them. It’s kinda like the OJ phenonmenon, they know he must have done something wrong, but who cares, he’s our son and we must stand by him. Ignorance at it’s best, bot to mention hypocrisy.

Don’t forget the 80s sex abuse hoaxes. It’s not inconceivable to get 20 women to say some of the same things.

It doesn’t make sense that 20 come out AFTER the initial allegation. Seems to me like a pile-on. This is a new era. You’re telling me 19-20 other women are outright RAPED and don’t say anything until THIS one?

Seems odd.

What you are referring to is a blog post that incorrectly states the evening as a “Fashion Extravaganza” created by Sanajana Jon for the exclusive purpose of supporting her brother. As i have stated in other posts, this is completely false, as if you check the flyer, you will see no mention of anand jon (only mention of a Jon is the statement under the cultural section “Fashion extravaganza by international fashion designer Sanjana Jon. This special event will also mark the runway debut of Donald Trump’s beautiful daughter Tiffany Trump.”)
As you can see from the flyer, it is an annual awards show with regards to India’s Independence Day, and it lists the Guests of Honor, such as Villar and Terry, who were invited to grace the event.

All of this bs about gathering for the exclusive support is completely unsupported slander, as the only evidence seems to be a blog post by Indiapost.com that incorrectly states the event as a Fashion Extravaganza, rather than stating that it only took up approximately 15-20 minutes of the opening of the Gala.

Well let’s see Intimately involved, Seems to me that for someone that is “intimately involved” you seem to sure be making the rounds claiming this is all BS. Would you also say that they did not know that the show of support for Anand Jon was not a major factor in this event? Seems funny that 90% of the pictures from the event seem to have models donning “We support Anand Jon” t0shirts, kind weird for something that was just an after thought, as you seem to suggest.

Now, i may grant you that Villar and McAuliffe probably were not totally cool with the glorifying of a guy that allegedly raped 20 girls, but why did they chose to not leave the event? Hmmmmm? Maybe there was too many people that might be offended and may think twice about giving campaign donations? Ya think?

Dont let his gay looks fool you. There are many girls out there that I could see relating to his very feminine, almost girlish way of carrying himself. Kinda reminds me of that kid from American idol, Sanjaya. I’d bet $100 this guy is guilty of raping at least a handful of these girls. Guys like him are thought to be cool, add a bit of diversity to the usual hollywood crowd and are made into court jesters by the likes of Paris Hilton, et el., and then use this notoriety to get hapless girls to let their guard down and take advantage of them. I’ve seen it time and time again, especially in LA.

I dont think 20 women came out and claimed they were raped. I think initially 3 girls came out and said they met him and he indicated they should come out to LA and meet with him, when they came, he pushed himself on them. I know no specifics, but even if its 5 women, its 5 too many. Im particularly more concerned about the girls under 18, as he should know a lot better.

I mean really, 14, 15 year old girls? That’s just wrong!
