Thank God the Texas legislature did the right thing in refusing to let our feckless governor force all girls in sixth grade and over to have this shot in order to attend Texas public schools. The entire boondoggle was to pay Merck back for their campaign contributions, and to do that, Gov. Perry was willing to risk the lives of young girls with an unproven drug.
To say we dodged a bullet is a vast understatement. And you’re right. We’ll never read about this narrow escape in the Dallas Morning News or the Houston Chronicle.

Well, after all, he wasn't getting the shot. No risk for him there.

However, to insist that our daughters be the guinea pigs for political gain is beyond disgusting.
