A trillion dollars doesnt buy what it used to at least when it comes to global warming, according to a new analysis from the Environmental Protection Agency.
Last July, this column reported that the latest global warming bill the Low Carbon Economy Act of 2007, introduced by Sens. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M. and Arlen Specter, R-Pa. would cost taxpayers more than $1 trillion in its first 10 years and untold trillions of dollars in subsequent decades.
This week, the EPA sent its analysis of the bills impact on climate to Bingaman and Specter. Now we can see what wed get for our money, and we may as well just build a giant bonfire with the cash and enjoy toasting marshmallows over it.

“...and we may as well just build a giant bonfire with the cash and enjoy toasting marshmallows over it.”
O.K. — but, you’d better add another 100 billion or so for the carbon credits for that fire.
for later.
Visualize AlGore saying "uh, that would be me."
Two-bit turkey.
We have a case study here of how something can be totally discredited and yet go on as if nothing had ever gone wrong, with enough money behind it.
We have only Bush to blame. He chose to back Specter in a very close (primary) race with a real conservative - Specter has been stabbing him in the back ever since.
We're in need of a new term. I'll let you know when I've come up with one.
Actually, 'collectivism' should do.
“We’re in need of a new term.”
There already is one,

Environmentalism=Communism with a friendly face... But I’ve been saying that for years and who’s listening?
As a scientist, if you want to get a National Science Foundation grant, your chances will improve dramatically if you can somehow tie it to the “dangers” of global warming, especially if you can claim that “man is responsible.”
With this, I think you make a big mistake common to conservatives. Environmentalism can be pursued from a collectivist standpoint or from a property rights standpoint. Why cede this issue to collectivists?
It is my opinion that in my lifetime I've watched non-collectivists simply hand to collectivists two major issues - civil rights and environmentalism.

How many trillions for this?
Then add the impact on the economy of forcing Kyoto II down our throats...
Then add the international taxes from/for/to the UN’s grasping hands....
Then add billions more more “ecoillogical” research for another 25 years ....
It's already creating jobs. According to Rush, one big D.C. law firm has already hired approximately fifty "global warming" litigators.
You are exactly right.
If allowed to continue unchecked, this Globaloney garbage which is from the pit of Gaia worshiping hell, is going to destroy incomes, jobs, earning capacities, savings, and lives by the millions. It is more insidious and more dangerous than even the Islamist jihadists because it is HERE NOW being passed into law NOW all over the country and in every large corporation and all over Europe.
It is totaly 100% insanity.
There will be NO HOPE for people if this stuff moves any further in to law. But a LOT of MONEY for the carbon offset sellers like Algore and for the tyrants running the country like Hitlery and her crime syndicate.....
It will mean total enslavement and a total dismantling our way of life as lived over the past several hundred years in this country.
Those who are descended from America’s African American slaves will finally experience REAL slavery in their lifetimes but it won’t be coming from the supposed conservative white “bigots” they claim to fear and hate- it will be coming from the hands of the elitist Communists who are doing everything in their power to totally destroy this nation as we have known it and end ANY freedoms ANYONE but they have.
Wake up, America! The ax is almost through the root of the tree of freedom.
