I’ve always said that states should dump their income taxes, property taxes, gas taxes, and user fees and switch to a single sales tax. I wouldn’t mind paying a 10% sales tax on everything if all of the other taxes were abolished.

The Fair Tax is a great idea that will never be supported by any state or federal plurality. After all, with the chances of vote buying reduced and little if any chance of income re-distribution, why should professional politicians sign on?
