“Fred should be his own man. He knows the Press are going to try to destroy him. He shouldn’t rush to a public beating. He will address the Press soon enough. Putting the people first is a much better tactic. I do think he will have to eventually cast caution into the wind and just get out there and fight with the barbarians.”

Something that a lot of people don’t know, is that in electoral politics, Fred is known as a brilliant campaigner.

Twice he won elections by huge margins, the first one was for Al Gore’s seat when he came from 20 behind, to a 20 plus victory, his reelection to that Senate seat was even larger.

He is famous for running his own campaign, I think that Fred is playing this out at a pace that fits the race’s distance.

He is not saturating the market all at once, but trying to feed the grassroots first to continue the bottom up momentum, he then reinforces that energy when he starts with the heavy Fred guns, at the top.

Contrast that with the one election, one term Gov. that is doing everything that seems right on the surface, but is riding on hollow underpinnings.

As far as grassroots for Thompson, I cannot get enthused about him until I see him in a debate or some other intense forum and hear his responses. Not seeing him out there is uninspiring and gives me pause. He will have to reel me in whenever he decides to take it up a notch. But I must say, the more time that lapses, the less confident I am he can do it.

Yeah that's it. I've watched the man speak 5-6 times, either on the Giuliani News Channel or the few videos I've found posted online of his speeches. Fell asleep everytime. The man is boring. He rambles and his speeches don't actually offer much meat. A bunch of thrown together catchphrases that lead to nowhere.

but trying to feed the grassroots first to continue the bottom up momentum

What grassroots? I've read posts elsewhere from supporters that are questioning him. If that's what big government 'conservatives' chose as the better choice than St. Rudy they made a mistake. I really believe the only reason the man is still up in the polls is because not too many people have heard him speak on a widescale.

I love that you said all you did ! Stop and think, people, we have over a year to go ! I want Fred to do what he is doing ! When the top guns are shooting off their mouth with promises and slandering each other already.. they are starting to cancel each other out along with themselves IMO.

I would love to see them go at each other strong on one of these lame debates, and have STATELY MR. THOMPSON, bide his time and then speak with a PROFOUND COMMON SENSE ANSWER, that takes everyone aback and they erupt in APPLAUSE ! I am patiently waiting for that. And it is going to happen !
