You do the search. The story is factual, as are 99.99% of stories at WND, and it is not the story that was posted earlier; it’s a new story (which you would know if you could read)

"A doctor’s, Veterans Administration or psychologist’s diagnosis isn’t a adjudication or commitment under the law."

You have no reading comprehension. That is the chief feature of this bill; to let any quack psych take anyone's rights away with a stroke of their socialist pen. Wake up!

In 2006 Tim Walberg challenged the incumbent Joe Schwartz in the Republican primary for the Michigan 7th district US congressional seat.

Walberg is a lifetime NRA member with a perfect lifetime A NRA rating.

Schwartz is an anti-gun RINO that never had over a C NRA rating.

Just before the election the NRA changed Schwartz’s rating to an A and endorsed him!

Tim Walberg still won the primary and the general election but the NRA REFUSES to explain to Michigan gun owners what, if anything, was going on in their minds!!

" but the NRA REFUSES to explain to Michigan gun owners what, if anything, was going on in their minds!!"

Me thinks that the people figured that out for themselves. The NRA has no cover anymore; they're fully aligned with the Bradys and the Schumers. Elitist fools.

I don’t think the NRA is alligned with the gun banners but they are playing politics beyond that which supports gun owners.

Tim Walberg was clearly the best choice for gun owners and had a long record to prove it.

If the NRA isn’t aligned with the gungrabbers, then why do they openly support enforcing all the unconstitutional gun laws?

As I said, I think its politics that have nothing to do with guns.

In the case I sited from 2006... Walberg was 100% pro-gun with a record to prove it, Schwartz a wishy-washy RINO that could give a crap less about the 2nd Amendment.

The Washington elite and President Bush were afraid Tim Walberg was too far Right to win and worried about the seat changing hands.

The NRA endorsed Schwartz for reasons that had nothing to do with gun rights or the interests of gun owners.

Tim Walberg won easily because this is a very conservative district full of gun owners!

Next order of buisness, getting rid of the unconstitutional ex-post facto law called the Lautenberg amendment

If it had nothing to do with gun rights or gun owners interests then they shouldn't endorse anyone! They're "supposed" to be a gun RIGHTS organization. The NRA also endorsed John "Traitor" Murtha over Diana Irey in PA - talk about consorting with the enemy.

There's also a good piece at HR 2640 IS JANET RENO'S DREAM at NRA Director Ted Nugent's site.

You should have flagged that to org.whodat and shooter. They think this is a good bill.

I certainly don’t have a reading comprehension problem but perhaps like all the other HHA bashers you have a posting problem. Then clear it up. Post the full context of the bill and we will all read it for ourselves.

The GOA has much higher standards than the NRA. The NRA has desperately tried to derail the Parker/Heller case at least twice. The first time was when they tried to bully their own lawsuit in DC (which failed) demanding that the Parker case be combined with theirs. When that didn’t work, they pushed the DC gun ban repeal AFTER Heller and Parker won in the appealate court.

Something that people need to understand about the NRA, they are a professional lobbying organization. THEY ARE NOT A 2ND AMENDMENT ORGANIZATION. They will do what they have to do in order to get a larger membership and bigger controversy.

As to the bill in question, the NRA is supposedly backing this because it will give money to BATFE’s rights restoration department. This has happened twice in the last dozen years and each time, the BATFE has re-allocated the money to enforcement. This time will be no different and the NRA knows it. So why are they willing to compromise once again on the 2nd Amendment?

I don’t mean to rag on you but I get sick of people trashing GOA when they have no clue what GOA has done for our rights. GOA spent more than double the money that the NRA did in order to ensure that the 1994 ban sunsetted in 2004. NRA of course tried to take the credit but the calls and letters I got were from GOA urging contact with the congresscritters. I received only one letter from NRA on the subject.

Mike

The GOA has no history of stopping any gun control or contributing toward gun rights on their own. The have no success record.

An inability to do something isn’t something to be proud of.

As far as Heller VS. The District of Columbia is concerned, I would be happy if the GOA would rent a couple of billboards around the Beltway in favor of Gun Rights. I’ll bet they can’t even do that successfully.

The person who started this thread made some outrageous claims. He was asked to post the bill and I doubt very much that it will be done. No better than you in which case you can’t post a single accomplishment from the GOA.

Any veteran who has ever had their Gun Rights removed by the VA can call the NRA legislative counsel at (730)267-1160. Anyone in the same situation and who wishes the same courtesy from the GOA is SOL.
