I tried to buy a copy of My Grandfather's Son at our local Barnes and Noble store today.

The store didn't have any copies.

Justice Thomas is more than right when he states in his book that it was all about abortion and had nothing to do with supposed sexual harassment.

Yes! This was clear to me at the time of the hearings, which I watched almost in their entirety.

Because of my unusual combination of political beliefs, I was in a unique position to see that the attacks on Justice Thomas were driven by the pro-abortionists.

I was a Leftist who happened to be anti-abortion and I was shocked at the way my fellow Liberals attacked Justice Thomas.

I was also shocked at the way the press reported the hearings. The MSM's summaries of each session bore little no resemblance to the actual hearings.*

My eyes were opened as I watched my fellow Liberals smear a decent human being. I was angered by their distortions.

My fellow Liberals behaved like mean and nasty people.

I could no longer associate myself with bullies who obviously were only pretending to be kind-hearted or loving people.

*I remember, most of all, the reporters' dismissive attitudes toward the testimony by the women who spoke in support of Justice Thomas.

If I had my way this book would be required reading for ALL high school children in America. I am about half way through the book and one thing I find interesting is his transformation from radical to conservative. He explains how and why his way of thinking changed and does so in very clear terms.
I’m so glad he made his story available to everyone.
By the way TBM - not sure if you saw this thread but is is chock full of info / facts. I bookmarked it myself for future reference. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1905384/posts
