I went into the belly of the beast to get Anne’s book last Friday: Border’s bookstore in Burlington Vermont.
After scanning the new release display, with big fat pictures of Hillary and Bill prominently displayed, I could not find Ann’s book. No surprise there.
So I asked a clerk, do you have Ann Coulter’s new book. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he feared I was a potential trouble maker so off he went to find it. Not finding it, he enlisted the help of another clerk and they went scampering around. I asked after them, you don’t suppose it’s sold out already?
Well, the clerk triumphantly returned with Ann’s book, looking very pleased with himself. It was on the political science shelf even though it had only been out for hours. I said, thanks, I want two copies, all real fans of Ann buy two.
Going to the checkout, I expected a snide comment from the gal, but got none. I was disappointed.
