Snugs, did you notice the little girl in last picture, post 4, on the right? It was just before Marine One took off, and she’s LOVING having the wind from the plane’s blades hit her.

I am so happy your electrical problem was solved and that you can put your mind at ease.

So many adorable photos of children today. I loved the one of the kids at the WH caught in the helicopter whirl. You know, they will always remember this and that they saw President Bush at the White House.

I, too, read that President Bush spent over two hours and that he talked to every family there who had lost a fire fighter.

Thanks for publishing Jenna's book tour.

Lynne Cheney's new book comes out tomorrow. If you see a list of cities she will do book signings, will you ping me?

How great is it to have a President who has real feelings. How nice is it to have a normal person as the servant leader of the Free World? Imagine if clinton was hugging that poor woman. We need to keep character in the WH.

Pray for W and Our Troops

Can you imagine Hillary hugging these brave relatives?

No, I cannot and she will not. She will send one of her minions out to meet all these Americans who get invited to the White House except when it is a good photo op and you can bet your sweet bippy that the mainstream media will publish any and all that see does.

I also wonder how in the world BillyJeff ever kept up with W's schedule. He never even came to the Oval till at least 10. The Press used to go on and on about how he was a workaholic and stayed in the Oval till at least 10 every night and sometimes as late as 2 or 3 a.m.

Of course, they shut up about that after Monica...hee hee

PRESIDENT BUSH VISITS AREA TO HONOR FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS
Reported by: Kaitlin McCarthy
Sunday, Oct 7, 2007 @08:47pm EST

EMMITSBURG, MD - President Bush made a stop in the Four-State region Sunday for the 26th Annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend in Emmitsburg.

He addressed a crowd of about 5,000 people and joined them as they paid their respects for 91 firefighters who died in the line of duty.

“No words can ease the ache in your hearts. At this difficult time, we will try to help by taking you into our arms,” the President said.

The President offered words of comfort as friends, family, and co-workers gathered to remember and honor their loved ones who died in the line of duty.

“I hope our presence can heal your hearts just a little bit,” he said.

The names of the firefighters were called as President Bush waited in a receiving line to greet and hug the family and friends of each of the 91 fallen men and women.

“For him to take the time out, that was awesome,” said Bill Kerns, who came to honor his sister-in-law. “I know my mother-in-law and my father-in-law went up to meet him and accepted the flag from him, and I’m sure they’re touched by it.”

JENNA’S BOOK PARTY DRAWS PROUD DAD

Jenna Bush’s book party was very much a family affair at the Hay-Adams Friday night. Her mother, Laura Bush, was there to introduce her, also twin sister Barbara, aunt Doro Bush Koch, uncle Marvin Bush, fiance Henry Hager, and — a last-minute surprise for most of the guests — her father, the president.

During an appreciative tribute to both her parents, Jenna thanked her father warmly for coming, noting simply that, “He doesn’t leave the house much these days.”

“It was touching; he was so happy he blushed with pleasure,” said Buffy Cafritz, who just happened to be standing next him.

DEAR ALBERTO: THANKS FOR THE MEMOS
By INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Friday, October 05, 2007 4:20 PM PT

War On Terror: Democrats are fuming over revelations that Alberto Gonzales’ Justice Department issued memos ruling the CIA’s tough interrogation techniques to be legal. Never have so many saved lives caused such anger.

A few weeks ago, congressional Democrats ran President Bush’s top law enforcement officer and close adviser and friend out of town. There was no question of lawbreaking; they simply found it outrageous that an attorney general might actually operate in accord with the wishes of the president who appointed him.

Now, thanks to yet another spilling of government secrets pertaining to our struggle against terrorism from the New York Times, we can see that Alberto Gonzales was undeniably a big reason the U.S. homeland has not suffered a post-9/11 terrorist attack — not the villain some would depict him as, but a hero. [A Note from DrDeb: At some point, both the President and his closest advisors will ALL be acknowledged as heroes — I just hope we (particularly the President) live long enough to enjoy it!

"That IS an adorable picture of her. She looks so much like her mom!"

I've noticed that. In the clip of her first book signing I discovered she speaks similar to Laura as well. She seems to be a wonderful person.

I would love to get a signed copy of her book but I have been unable to find a schedule for stops she will make in the Midwest. :(

I'm sure there is a huge security issue in releasing the stops too early. Better that she is safe.
