We’re not blasting the family, we’re blasting the Democrats, who rely upon fraud to make their political points.
I am. This father is failing his children. Making sure your children stay healthy and can be treated when injured or sick is just as important as buying food for them.
IF YOU CHOOSE A JOB THAT DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO DO SO, that is your responsibility, not mine.
Speak for yourself. I am perfectly willing to "blast the family" in this case, if the various bits of information that has been presented by the Democrats and researched here on FreeRepublic are true. For one thing, there's a good chance the family has been engaging in some serious tax fraud. And if not, then they have been clearly gaming the system in order to have their childrens' medical bills paid by taxpayers who are far less well-off than they are.
Bingo...but the dems are still hiding behind the child.
You know, what gets me is that this was a long time choice by the family...by this man, who ought to be providing for his family. Instead, he made the choice to go into business for himself and was supposedly unable to provide healthcare for his family. Not only that, he had FOUR CHILDREN and didn’t provide healthcare for them.
Ok, the wife is college-educated...why didn’t she find a position that provided coverage for them?
What about the grandparents? If I knew my grandchildren weren’t covered, I’d make sure they were! Are the grandparents impoverished? Are people who have the luxury of being “Quilt Artists” poor folks?
My husband and I married late in life. Even so, we waited four years after we got married to have children for him to finish getting his degree so that he could provide for a family. I don’t work, I stay at home and homeschool the kids. We live in a 900 square foot wood frame happy home in rural Oklahoma. Probably by most definitions, we would be considered low income. It’s our choice. We go without a lot of niceties. However, my kids have NEVER been without healthcare coverage.
Not too long ago, for a few weeks we temporarily lost our coverage. (It was later reinstated retroactively.) During that time, this homeschooling Mom got in to the process of FINDING A JOB that would either provide insurance or supplement our income enough to purchase it. (Catastrophic care insurance through State Farm would’ve cost us about $250 a month.) NOT ONCE did I consider contacting the state for assistance.
There are truly needy families in this country. We’re not one of those families and neither are these people. They are people who have made a choice to depend on the government instead of providing for themselves.
It’s a good lesson for little Graeme. If you’re going to say “Lookit me! Lookit me!” better be prepared for people to look.
