I wonder how come we never hear the media use the term, "liberal-leaning?"
I hope the Prez and GOP squash this bill dead! It is really sad timing with all of the illegal immigrants running amuk in our country and the liberals in the country believe they (i-i) have the "RIGHT" to benefits! If this bill passes, guess who will be the biggest recipients? You guessed it!
Nevertheless, I’m quite happy to be called “conservative-leaning”.
The proper term for Democrats is “unscrupulous-leaning”.
Secondly there are politicians (senators, representatives, etc.) of no known political party. That's just the way it is. For example, Dianne Feintstein, Nancy Pelosi, Dingy Harry often are not members of any political party. When it suits them, however, or it is necessary to contrast their political affiliation with conservative, or ultra-conservative members of the right-wing, then they're identified as being Democrats.
Moreover, those that are not members of any political party, nor Democrat, nor conservative are Republican. In fact Republican almost always means conservative-Republican, except where lack of such adjective may lead credence to the concept of a non-conservative Republican (as inferred on the basis of an apparent distinction between a mere Republican and a conservative-Republican). Furthermore, there is the radical fringe group known as the evangelical endorsed ultra-conservative Republican. The existance of any "liberal" politician is a myth. There are no "liberal" Democrats. There are only politicians holding some elected government office, or Democrats; further identification with the adjective of "liberal" is superfluous.
...putting together a network in the blogosphere and a lot of the new progressive infrastructure, institutions that I helped start and support like Media Matters and the Center for American Progress - liberal Democtrat Sen. Hillary Clinton during address before the YearlyKooks, I mean Kos, conventionHow many times has MediaMatters, or CAP been cited as being anything but "media watchdogs", instead of the liberal mouthpieces of the left-wing that they in fact are? How many times has a politician been referred to as being progressive-Republican, liberal-Republican, fiscally conservative social liberal? Or how 'bout this: liberal social policy influenced fiscal conservative moderate Republican.
I'll concede that there have been references made to moderate Democrats and Republicans. What's the difference? Are they moderate in their social or fiscal policy? How is a moderate Democrat different from a mere Republican (which clearly is different from a conservative-Republican, which is different from a moderate-Republican.
