There's one teeny problem with the Dem's ploy here in using this family.
Even if mom and dad made 'only $45K'. Health Insurance for young kids is DIRT CHEAP. I just got a new Blue Cross Blue Shield policy for our 24 yo daughter at $69.00 a month. I can't imagine two pre-teens costing more than $50-$60 stinking bucks -- for both.
There is absolutely NO REASON they were not privately insured prior to this car accident. (guess dad was too busy playing with his lathe)

My 23 yo just aged out of our policy. Even though she has health conditions, I found her a policy for $130 a month. She goes to school and works part-time, so her income is low enough she could just apply for Medicaid if she got sick/injured. You’re right, it is a personal choice in most cases, why should I pay for others who choose to spend their money on other things?
