This war is not going well.

Yes it is. The Iraqis have repeated the same path of initial resistance, then realisation and acceptance that the Kurds did. The inhabitants of Iraq, especially the inhabitants of Anbar province, now know the Jihadists do NOT have their best interests at heart, and have turned on them. The Iraq war is all but won.

The war on the Iranian Regime is about to begin, please God.

He looked old, moved slow, and really didn’t formulate his answers all that coherently.

So ...

"You shouldn’t confuse the wealth of nations with the wealth of government".

That's incoherent? No - that's awesome. It was an answer worthy of Rush Limbaugh or Adam Smith.

"The tax-payer knows where that money is – it's in his pocket" is incoherent? That's incoherent to you?

"The average 20 year old in Iraq knows more about national security than a 20 year veteran on Capitol Hill"

Surely you'll agree that THAT is fair comment?

FDT is evidently a Conservative's Conservative. Hopefully Americans will realize that the candidates with great hair aren't the ones who make the best Presidents.

The NY press are upaid staffers for the Clintonista regime.
They have made unreal personal attacks on Rudy and his wife !
As for Fred appearance , Hilary has had about 150,000-200,000 worth of work done on her over the past 20 years according to my brother in law, a plastic surgeon.
They are close in AGE. Hilary is quite scary up close .
He also said that Silky pony had work done too around his eyes.

You seem very much out of your depth on this board with these off-the-wall observations.

Spoken like a man who supports another candidate.

Howard Fineman and decent do not belong in the same sentence. These people want Giuliani to win.

No it is not. The question was not a fleeting target question. What will a general tell you about the War Powers Act of 1973? Obviously LAWYERS are involved in events like the bombing of Yugoslavia.

I like how you side with Fineman and Democrats to support Giuliani.

I agree: “But, certainly, what you want to do is to have the agreement of all the people...”

MATTHEWS: Governor Romney…if you were president of the United States, would you need to go to Congress to get authorization to take military action against Iran’s nuclear facilities?

ROMNEY: You sit down with your attorneys and tell you what you have to do, but obviously the president of the United States has to do what’s in the best interest of the United States to protect us against a potential threat. The president did that as he was planning on moving into Iraq and received the authorization of Congress...

MATTHEWS: Did he need it?

ROMNEY: You know, we’re going to let the lawyers sort out what he needed to do and what he didn’t need to do. But, certainly, what you want to do is to have the agreement of all the people — leadership of our government as well as our friends around the world where those circumstances are available.

Fred Thompson ... seemed in over his head as the CNBC debate began here.

What?

Fred Thompson just didn’t have a chance. He looked old, moved slow, and really didn’t formulate his answers all that coherently. He’s now a second-tier candidate.

And you've been smoking what?

And you've been smoking what?

At the very least you'll have to admit that Fred looked very old last night. It's almost impossible to imagine that he and Romney are essentially the same age.

And the two best smack downs were provided by Fred.

First to Romneys well rehearsed “got to make sure I find a time to say this line knocking Fred”, Fred laughed and turned it back on Romney with humor.Fred’s off the cuff actor reference however said in humor hit a much deeper meaning.

And the quiet retort to Christopher...(I chuckle each time I think of that)...was priceless.

LOL this idea that he moves slow or talks slow cracks me up. I was raised in the south. Thompsons speech was perfectly modulated and his movements normal.

Why don’t you attack him on his comments? I don’t see alot of that going on when it comes to Thompson.

He looked like a normal 65 year old man, not like he made a pact with the devil to keep his plastic good looks.

LOL! Good point. Romney keeps mentioning his "executive experience", which I think is a major mistake. Unfortunately for him, it's his biggest asset. Romney as Commander in Chief? I think not.

“Fred didn’t die today,” said Ron Kaufman, one of Mitt Romney’s top spin doctors.

While I don't think Thompson was necessarily stellar, for Fineman to use as his first source an admitted Mitt Romney spin doctor is beyond belief.

It there were only one right answer to this question it would be this one, offered up by Fred Thompson:
“In any close call, you should go to Congress, whether it’s legally required or not, because you’re going to need the American people and Congress will help you if they’re voting for it or if they support it. Or leaders, especially in the opposite party, are convinced and looking at the evidence that this is the right thing to do, that will help you with the American people. And we’ve learned that, over the long term in any conflict, we’ve got to have the strong support of the American people.”
It's this kind of common sense that's going to propel Fred to the White House.

They'll never do that to Fred's face, because they know that Fred will kick their asses, figuratively speaking. Just ask Mikey Moore. And Chrissy M.

I want a president who is CAUTIOUS. I want a president who thinks decisions through carefully and consults with others, not someone who is high on his own ego. I want a president who not only says he values American lives and interests but ACTS like it. I want a president who won’t overstep the bounds of his office.

So, by "consults with others" you mean checks with his lawyers?
