Sixty percent of the American children in foster care are black.
Let me repeat that.
In the United States, of all the children in foster care, 60 percent are black.
African-Americans are 60 percent of the foster children and 12 percent of the general population. That’s a 500-percent over representation.
In ballpark terms, that means a black child is five times more likely to end up in foster care than the average American child. When you take black children out of the national average, blacks are in the neighborhood of 11 times more likely to be foster children than non-blacks.
Why is that?
It’s because there is a broad-based collapse of the black family in America. And if things are ever going to get better, African-American leaders are going to have to switch their emphasis from defending black America to changing black America.
There needs to be a reformation and a renewal of black America, with a change of emphasis from victimization to individual responsibility.
This isn’t offered as a criticism, but as a lifeline. Not a condemnation, but as a way out of a crisis. Not because I hate blacks, but because I love them.
Because I am haunted by the thought of those African-American kids in foster care, and the lonely isolation and deprivation of natural affection they must feel. The babies who need holding and the young tears that need to be dried. The kids who never really get a chance, who never really get the most basic of birthrights – a mom and a dad and a loving home.
And I am saddened by what those children must almost unavoidably become – alienated from society and deprived of its opportunities, wards first of the state and then of the welfare and prison systems. It is a cancer wherever it exists, but it exists with butchering disproportion in the black community.
And only the black community can change that.
And the preachers must lead.
The black church, long touted as the anchor of the African-American community, is in abject failure. Its efforts are apparently so overwhelmed as to be fruitless. There is much preaching of the word, but little living of the word, and consequently few blessings of the word.
The black clergy must change that. They must demand not only to be heard by their community, but followed. Not in the paths of civil rights conflict and peace and justice causes, but in the simple and clear lifestyle of Christ. They must preach the gospel of God, not the gospel of men.
They must preach the virtuous and faithful life. Lying, stealing and idleness must be denounced. Marriage and family must be exalted, and out-of-wedlock sex and children must be scorned. In a community where two-thirds of the children are born to single mothers, is it any wonder such astounding numbers end up abused and neglected and dumped into foster care.
The culture must be changed. It must stop being worshipped, it must be replaced.
And prominent African-Americans – in sports, entertainment, business and politics – must act with public dignity. The bad example of a few – through destructive lifestyles, drug use and disrespectful and dissolute living – does tremendous damage to many.
A theme of good living must permeate the African-American popular culture. Instead of drugs, violence and sex, the community’s entertainment and standards must be directed toward bettering real lives in the real world. And the obsession with white racism should be replaced with a focus on black power – black power to choose to live lives with better, freer and happier outcomes.
And all of this must come from within.
There is no government program, no amount of money, no outside mentoring or education, no non-profit crusade, no nothing that will do a bit of good – except the strong, righteous and wise leadership of black moms and dads, pastors and mayors.
W.E.B. Du Bois taught that the most principled and educated of the black community would have to lead out to save it from the least principled and least educated. He said that to keep the worst element from dominating, the best element would have to assume its full social responsibility and lift its community by its example and achievements.
That is not now happening.
But the counsel of a century ago is still wise today.
Here are two examples.
In his forward to Booker T. Washington’s autobiography, Du Bois warned blacks against “the old ideas of revolt and revenge” and observed, “In every generation of our national life, from Phillis Wheatley to Booker Washington, the Negro race in America has succeeded in bringing forth men whom the country, at times spontaneously, at times in spite of itself, has been impelled to honor and respect.”
He was right, but he is being ignored. “Revolt and revenge” are being lifted up, and “honor and respect” are being pushed down. The Colin Powells and the Condaleeza Rices of the world are mocked and torn down, not emulated and honored.
The black family is in tatters, the black economy is badly wounded, the black future is dim.
And it ever will be, unless black America rouses to save itself and live up to the glory of its history. If the black family survived slavery, it can survive the modern world.
If – and only if – African-Americans free themselves from the shackles of their own bad choices, and live up to the strength and virtue of their heritage.
Showy, grandstanding for the purpose of personal and professional self-agrandizement is NOT leadership. Nothing gets done for anyone, except for the people shoving their own mugs into the cameras.
Time for some actual ‘grass roots’ changes within the the black communities. Time to call the thing by it’s right name and go forward from there.
What a silly, condescending, racist statement. Substitute whites for blacks and see what a ridiculous statement it is. If anyone is to "blame," it is the failure of both black and white leadership to address the problems of the family head-on. And then there is the matter of personal responsibility. We are having the same problems with white and hispanic families, just not on the same scale, yet. But the times are a changing.
It's the fertility surge among unwed Hispanics that should worry policymakers. Hispanic women have the highest unmarried birthrate in the country – over three times that of whites and Asians, and nearly 1 ½ times that of black women, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Every 1,000 unmarried Hispanic women bore 92 children in 2003 (the latest year for which data exist), compared with 28 children for unmarried white women, 22 for unmarried Asian women, and 66 for unmarried black women.
Forty-five percent of all Hispanic births occur outside of marriage, compared with 24 percent for whites and 15 percent for Asians. Only the percentage for blacks – 68 percent – is higher. But the black population is not going to triple over the next few decades.

But, sorry, the imposition of someone’s standards must come about sometime, or nothing will ever be changed.
With regard to pregnancy waiting until mothers are able to support both themselves and their babies — Well, the sex altogether should wait until their is a marriage. And marriage should wait until there is a man who can support mother and children, who will commit himself to a loving headship of the home and loving fatherhood.
These are things not being taught in very many black churches. But then, why should anyone be imposing their standards on others. /s
Agreed. BUT, when the party the adults continue to vote for continues to give them handouts to pop out a bunch of kids and be, essentially, paid to do so, I think the problem needs to be addressed at both ends.
What the FemiGnatzies did to white males, the Socialists have done to black males. Marginalize them, and make them unimportant and totally unnecessary to women and children. No need for a Daddy in the home when Mother Government will take care of you!

Do you know what the percentage of white women being raped by black men is?
I heard that depending on the year it is 33% to 67%. Also, those rapes, in the main, include more extreme violence than the other rapes.
Also, do you know what the percentage of black women being raped by white men is? I heard it is in the low single digits.
Do you think the rape of white women by black men should, in the light of these percentages, be redefined as a hate crime?
PS, If the rough percentages above are innaccurate, or if those percentages are internet myths, someone please give me more accurate information, or, better still, point me to some resource for better information.
If these percentages were reversed what do you think the reaction would be from CNN and the other brainwashing news media?

Black preachers could do what St. John Newman did for Catholic immigrants in Baltimore and Philadelphia in the 19th century.
Black preachers could open FREE private schools staffed by volunteers who are more committed to the word and message of Christ than they are to the Marxist dialectics of race, gender, and class oppression.
My husband and I were educated in tuition FREE Catholic schools. All of my husband’s family back to grandparents and all of my mother’s family (aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents) were educated in tuition FREE schools staffed by volunteers ( nuns) who were committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. These free schools existed until far too many members of the Catholic Church leadership became more committed to the words of Karl Marx than to the words of Christ.
If dirt poor illiterate immigrants could organized themselves (with the help of visionaries such as John Newman and a pure gospel) to build tuition free schools and vibrant parishes, then Black preachers should be able to do that now.

This is true of all communities, not just the blacks.
We need preachers that want to fill hearts, not just pews.
We need families that fight to stay together, not just wander from one relationship to another.
We need a country that believes in individualism and self worth, not just promoting that we are all the same, as in slaves to taxes and government mandates.
We must fight for our individual freedoms. We cannot rely on others to fix our problems. As stated, we must help ourselves, and uplift those who would join us.

And no one can convince me blacks cannot transcend their culture. Booker T. Washington is my personal hero. He ought to be a hero to every American, black or white.
Depending upon black preachers to pull black America out of the ‘hood, however, is a mistake. To paraphrase Stokely Carmichael, many black preachers are part of the problem, not the solution. The saintly Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. himself had feet of clay (according to Ralph Abernathy and others, he liked a “little on the side”; he also committed plagarism in several of his academic papers and speeches). His stand for brotherhood and peace was admirable, but MLK was a poor moral example for blacks, and if it is one thing young black people need, it is a credible moral example.
Urban black culture is incompatible with civilized urban life. Right now, civilized people in the cities “solve” the problem of failed black culture by moving away from it. Eventually, however, there will be no place left to run, and at that point civil behavior will be imposed on American blacks by the use of force. (Note: it will very likely not be American whites who do this. Over time, other ethnic and cultural groups will come to dominate urban life in America — groups much less squeamish about racial issues than are whites.) The process will not be pretty, and violence will likely be involved. To forestall this, American black people need to act now to restore a civilized culture to their own.
As I white person, I am supposed to have no right to an opinion on black culture in America. To this, I say “bullshit”. It so happens that I grew up in a black neighborhood, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina; we were the only white people in our neighborhood, and we all paid the price for our exclusivity in the form of beatings, fights, and other forms of racial friction. In time, we learned to coexist with our black neighbors, and even made friends among them — but in the end, our closest friends were always white or Latino. Why? Not because of skin color, but because we shared the same cultural values. It is these values, not skin color, that lie at the heart of the problem of black urban culture in America. People who share the same values can live together in peace no matter their racial or ethnic background; people who do not share values cannot. It’s just that simple.
Therefore, the solution to the problem of black urban culture is to destroy the “values” it represents — the tribal values of an immature culture: ostentatious displays of wealth; harem-building; the glorification of violence and anti-social behavior; the disdain for knowledge in favor of “street smarts”; the admiration of “hustling”, scams, and “getting back at the Man” via crime; the hatred of racial outsiders; solidarity against law and order (”no snitchin’”); the tolerance of drug and alcohol abuse; coarse tastes in music, dance, and clothing; and all the other tenets that make up our failed American black urban culture of today. In their place must come the values of Western, European-American civilization: restraint; family values; peaceful and orderly behavior; knowledge and education; sportsmanship and a respect for law and order; tolerance of human differences; ambition and hard work; sobriety; good taste; and the other values that made Western civilization the most advanced in the world.
(Aside: Yes, I realize that not all black people are part of the problem. Civilized people come in all colors, and civilized black Americans are just as much victims of ghetto culture as the rest of us. I furthermore acknowledge that there are plenty of white people, Asians, and others who behave badly as well. Trash, unfortunately, exists in every race — and demands the same treatment in each.)
I hope I haven’t offended anyone by these words. If I have, however, there is nothing I can do to ease their pain. The truth is the truth. The sooner we all face up to it, the better for everyone.
About a week ago I stumbled across an African American forum based here in the US. I (white guy) was pretty amazed that no matter what problems anyone (blacks) were experiencing here in the US...almost without exception is was all “whitey’s fault”.
Another (black) poster started a topic “Why are things so bad in Africa”...and again.... 100% of every response was attributed to the Eeevil White guys.
I asked them what about Zimbabwe?
Same thing.....”bla, bla, bla...colonialism”
I mentioned to them that the Black leader there started “land reforms” and kicked Whitey off of the land. Zimbabwe went from exporting food ten years ago....to a starving nation now. Even when I quoted their own Agricultural minister....they denied everything....and went back to their “Blame whitey” chants.
I made sure I did not “tell them” what to do but made mention of how Black professionals might want to mentor other blacks....etc....
I asked them how can it be that a black Haitian who emigrates here legally can get a job driving a taxi.... work 80+ hours a week....and in 5 years accumulate enough capital to buy a neighborhood store?
....crickets..... nothing... no response...
Finally they kicked me off of the BB. Oh well...it was an enlightening 24 hour period peering into the dementia that some black Americans have towards whites.
If you met these African-American posters in person, the response you would have received would be something like this,
“You just don’t get it. You don’t know what its like to be Black in America. There are two Americas. One for Whitey and one for Blacks. The American Dream. Yeah right. Only for White boys. Generations of racism and slavery have destroyed the Black family. We need a storng federal govt to level the playing field for Blacks.”
The Heroes: Snoop, P Diddy, Shabazz, Rappers, Malcom X, anyone anti-white/anti-society.
The problems: Insurmountable with lists like these.
They were on break and discussing a new employee who had said she wanted to have a baby. They all (6) decided she should because that way “she would have someone who would love her forever”
The Democrats, of course. They've been saving Black America for decades now.
And blacks will reward them with their votes, overwhelmingly.

Raw numbers, or percentage? There are more than three times as many white folks as blacks in America. Blacks are around 15% of the American population, less if you try to factor in the huge waves of uncounted, mostly-Hispanic illegals, but blacks endure about 30% of the nation’s abortions, if I’m remembering correctly. Those who search will see a similarly skewed over-representation of blacks in violent crime statistics, if I’m not mistaken. Would that I were.
I truly believe that if more black Americans knew just those four facts, we would significantly increase the number of black Republicans.
