Resolution 8.16 (Floor Resolution) - Dia de La Gente Indigena
1. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that organizations represented by delegates of the 2007 National Latino Congreso declared that Columbus Day represents the last 500 years of colonization in the Western Hemisphere, and as such should be denounced by this Congress as illegal, immoral and should recognize the rights of Indigenous peoples to their aboriginal homelands, self-determination, and cultural resources. This day should be recognized as a day of Indigenous people, and that we further recognize and declare our indigenous heritage.

To me, it is amazing the blatant anti-American and racial tone of most of these resolutions.
I guess they have found that this sort of thing can be stuffed right in our faces and nothing will be done about it.
Couldn't there at least be an exception for Michael Moore?
Or would including him in the family of human beings be a definition stretch anyway?

It is interesting to see the sponsors of the 2007 meeting: Southwest Airlines, National Popular Vote, Oxfam, Sierra Club, etc. And in 2006, add Whole Foods, Wells Fargo, GM, Levi Strauss, The Heinz Family Foundation, etc. We need to write to the sponsors to see why they are supporting such a radical group.
Except for feelthy Guatamalans trying to sneak into Mexico, eh, amigos? Them you can toss into jail and throw away the key.
Dear Latino-dudes: Here in sane-world, we apply the same principles to ourselves that we apply to others. It's called "justice." It's a Catholic concept, but you appear not to have quite absorbed it.
These folks are so phony and unscrupulous, they not only aren't American, they're not part of Western civilization. The colonization was incomplete in their case. Send them back to wherever and push 'em off the top of those lovely Aztec pyramids.
That is true, no provision for non-human.
This gathering is strictly Communist Party. Even illegal Mexicans and Central Americans love Columbus.
Reading the list of "issues" addressed by this Congreso reminded me of the nuclear power and anti-Vietnam rallies, which were Party-organized at their core. Absolutely incoherent agenda: Cuba; the "environment"; feminists (although they didn't quite dare mention the abortion sacrament); labor union gangsters; anti-coal; etc., etc. Everybody brings a certain number of bodies in return for the opportunity to stand at the podium and have absolutely no one listen.
And whats with the hatred of Columbus day? All he did was discover, for the Eastern hemisphere, the Western one. If subsequent Europeans came over and did some nasty things, hate them. Its like hating on the guy who developed metallurgy, because all those awful swords killed so many people...
Actually I have a theory that if it weren’t for Columbus everyone would now speak German. And wouldn’t we be much better off. Komm on you know ze Antwort.

Lot of verbiage when they could have just said: "Let us in and give us free stuff." ;)
I am afraid this is NOT a “radical” group, but a mainstream group. Their mainstream just does not include you, as you can probably tell from the wording of every other resolution.
Right about these sponsors. I didn’t look for that on their website.
Americans better wake up fast that our country is being actively deconstructed and we are footing the bill for it!
GM will be hearing from me. I helped my mom buy a GM last year. They will never get our business again.
They are not as powerless as you might think. Look at the list of sponsors on post 5.
One way or another, we are funding this anti-American activity.
Memo to so-called “national latino congresso” - kindly go sit on an air hose and rotate. Uppity, cheeky spoiled brats.
Looking at your tag line tells me you understand we are dealing with more than just spoiled brats here.
These guys mean business and if the trend continues, they will win, not us!
You’re right on the money. But how do we stop that from happening? It looks to me like they’ve been getting their way for the most part?
You’re exactly right! I call them spoiled brats not only because they act like it sometimes, but as a term of deliberate derision. They want our land and us out the same way the PLO/Fatah/Hamas want every Jew out of Israel and the land of Israel for their grubby selves.
