How so?

It just sounds like everyone is blasting everyone, the Army dudes don’t know whether to surrender at first contact or shoot civilians instead.

There are Chechens and Uighurs and Neo Taliban and khasadars (tribal police)and individual jihadis from abroad. Additional participants include Mehsuds of Baitullah, and the IMU and everyones favorite, the Islamic Jihad Group, not to mention the Pakistani security forces.

The Army does not seem to be performing well, with the following mentioned ... “received 30 bodies of the slain soldiers” ... “jirga members had recovered 73 bodies of soldiers” ... “45 bodies of soldiers had been handed over to military officials”

Following the discovery of over a dozen mutilated dead bodies, either beheaded or with their throats slit, of paramilitary personnel captured earlier by Baitullah Mehsud’s men, the paramilitary forces ran amok. Some surrendered to the terrorists, others discarded their uniforms and took shelter in the homes of the residents of the area and some others went on a killing spree, indiscriminately killing the local villagers and the Uzbeks, Chechens and Uighurs living in Mir Ali.

All in all a highly detailed and fascinating account of what appears to be a typical islamoclusterfork.

I enjoyed it, thanks for posting it.

Regards

The “safe havens” inside Pakistan has been breeding terrorist to the extent that its now reached a situation where different groups are competing to assert their authority over the region.

Earlier in Afghanistan they were under the onslaught of a bigger enemy and were on the run. The need for survival was the main factor that kept them united. Today they go virtually unopposed and unchallenged. They have re-established Taliban-Al Qeada territory within Pakistan and in order to grow out of their restricted boundaries they have been fuelling Taliban (Red Mosque) style madrassas very close to Islamabad (Pakistani heartland).

Pakistan army’s attempt to test the waters inside Wazirstan has met with a rude shock. They realised they have no control on the ground and so need to conduct air strikes. To little to late.
