All I read is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I have youtube videos, written speeches and video of mitt’s past debates. I have the video from last night where he says he will ask attorneys before taking out Iran’s Reators etc... and his “deer in the headlights” reaction. Anyone not swooning over his charms knows who and what mitt is. You waste your energy defending him or rootie. Don’t pi$$ on my boots and tell me it’s raining.

MDS -- Mitt derangement syndrome is uglier than BDS -- Bush Derangement Syndrome.
Especially when it's practiced by holier-than-thou Freepers who DEMAND that no one ever ever ever change their mind on anything.
Except Reagan, of course. He never changed.
Ooops. Forgot, the Great Ronaldus Maximus ALSO changed his position on abortion -- fortunately to the moral and acceptable Pro-Life side.
But these Romney-haters seem to LOVE the fact that they are suffering from MDS. Makes 'em feel superior, I guess.

If you have the video, then go back and watch it again. The context was Paul saying the president acted illegally in going into Iraq. Romney said he would consult the attorneys about legally, BUT he would do whatever is needed to protect the U.S. The first half of the statement was to the Isolationists and pacifist left. The rest of the statement told what he would do.
I thought he gave the perfect answer, but it seems some others want to strip it down to something they can complain about.
Have you noticed that the MSM is trying to ram Thompson and Giuliani down our throats? The drum beat has been going on for several weeks now that Giuliani and/or Thompson is the inevitable nominee because they and the “national” polls say so.
Last night I watched both broadcasts of the debate. On the second go round I recorded how many questions each candidate was asked. The results were interesting, and, I’d say, predictable.
Thompson was asked nineteen questions, three of which were followups to his previous answer. I timed his answers and he was given the most time to answer and was rarely interrupted by Matthews.
Giuliani was asked eighteen questions, at least five of which allowed him to follow up and expand on his previous answer.
McCain was third with fourteen opportunities to answer questions. Two of his questions were followups to his previous answer.
Romney was only allowed to respond to thirteen questions. He got one “followup” which actually was a followup to an answer somebody else gave to a question Romney wasn’t even asked. He was also warned that his answer in that instance “had to be quick.”
In one of the supposedly thirty second answer segments in the “lightning round,” Giuliani was permitted to talk without interruption for sixty seconds and then was given fifteen additional seconds to expand his answer during a followup question. Nobody else was given the same opportunity.
Chrissy Matthews also got flirtatious with Giuliani begging him repeatedly to sing the “Look for the Union Label” organizing song. The whole debate was a Matthews-Giuliani lovefest. When Romney started in on his Fred joke, though, Matthews could be heard impatiently and loudly in the background saying “okay” and “all right” repeatedly to try to shut him up.
Duncan Hunter, incidentally, only got seven questions in the debate, one fewer than Ron Paul.
In the discussion after the debate, Matthews, Howard Fineman, Laura O’Donnell and some other commentator were all gushing over Giuliani and Thompson. Fineman declared that Giuliani “did himself the most good.” Surprise, surprise! How could he not in that environment? On the other hand, Matthews was openly mocking and contemptuous of Romney.
The fix is in, Romney, Hunter, and Huckabee supporters. The MSM and political elites like Sean Hannity, Bill Bennett, Chris Matthews, Howard Fineman, etc., are growing weary of the Republican sifting process. They’ve decided Republicans should nominate either Thompson or Giuliani and they’re rigging debates to make sure that both have the most opportunities to put their face and b.s. before the American people. Forget about the primaries. The “national” polls are what’s important and the actual voters in the primary states be damned.
I prefer to make my own decisions about the candidate I want to support. I really resent it when a candidate is treated unfairly. I’ve watched all of the debates and the pattern is becoming obvious. My advice to Romney and the others is to get your talking points lined up and hog whatever time you’re given. Keep talking even when Matthews or some other “moderator” tries to shut you up. You’ll get few opportunities to answer so you’d better make each one count.
And, by the way, Romney of all the candidates yesterday was the only one with the guts and determination to challenge Giuliani and try to bring him down. I think he handled himself well against Giuliani. The rest seem to have already conceded the nomination to Rudy. I’m glad Romney hasn’t.

Stressing that he runs “on a conservative platform” is merely a tacit opinion that he is not actually conservative, merely running as one.
No, mitt said, “First... I would consult with attorneys”.

“Have you noticed that the MSM is trying to ram Thompson and Giuliani down our throats?”
I appreciate your thoughts.
It is not just the MSM. A lot on FR seem determined to destroy Romney.
For myself, I think it is a foregone conclusion that the nominee will be Thompson. The question for me is, who will be the VP? Some VPs are just for going to funerals, but I think Fred will need a VP that will give energy and broad advice for his presidency.
I think Thompson will need the kind of expertise working for him that Romney has. I also have to ask, who will be the back up if Fred’s health takes a turn for the worse. I feel more comfortable with Romney filling in than Giuliani.
Some FR people seemed to be very emotional against Romney, I guess afraid he might win. Unfortunately, what they might succeed in doing is do charaacter assassination to the point he will also be out of the running for VP. I wish the character assassination would stop.
That is my opinion.
Romney was not asked about defense against an attack on our country. He was asked about a possible preemptive attack on another country. You had better hope he would consult with attorneys and key members of Congress before taking that action. If he didn’t, he would be risking impeachment. As Romney said, he would want to act in a way that the country was behind him.

I’ll take foreign policy expertise, which Fred Thompson has in spades, over leftist executive experience any day.
I don’t think Mitt is too worried about a few hundred cranky FReepers vowing never to support him. He plays well with the politically disinterested general public. His biggest problem remains overcoming the anti-Mormon sentiment of Southern evangelicals - and he probably can’t do enough of that in time to win the nomination.
“Romney failed his biggest test to date...”
I can hardly believe how eager some people are, even if it takes a little distotion, to find a “gotcha” moment.
HEY WASHINGTON POST...
Who Is Hillary Clinton???? A-holes.
Mitt is head and shoulders above Rudy. I can support Mitt.
