I agree with what you say. Rudy has made it doubly clear what he would do regarding the appointments of
SC justices. They would be like Thomas, Scalia etc.

Do you believe what a candidate trying to appeal to the Republican base during a primary campaign SAYS he would do or what the totality of his behavior while in office makes clear he would really do? Remember that Bush said he was against amnesty for illegals while he was campaigning. Rudy’s a politician, it’s campaign season and his lips are moving. Look at what he’s DONE as an indicator of what he will do, not what he SAYS. And the totality of Rudy’s life in office, in fact the totality of his life, period, screams “liberal.”
The Republican Pary is committing suicide if it nominates Rudy, pure and simple. The inside the Beltway types like Ann Coulter will never get that. She’s a great bomb-thrower and says the things out loud that most people won’t, but she’s never impressed me as a political analyst. The inside the Beltway types assume Republicans have nowhere else to go and will hold their nose and vote for Rudy just to keep the Anti-Christette out of the Oval Office. Plenty will, but too many will not. I know several of them. If Rudy gets the nod, Hillary is our next President, and the Republican establishment that’s trying to shove him down our throats will be to blame.
And when they run into trouble in the Senate confirmation process, how hard will he fight to promote an anti-abortion justice ?
Since Ginsberg, Roberts, Thomas, and Scalia are cut from the same mold in Giuliani’s mind, he can even say that with a straight face.
He has NOT made that clear at all. He has said that he will appoint ‘strict constructionists’ and said that he’d appoint judges like Thomas and Scalia. However, when pressed, he says that Ruth Bader Ginsburg is also a ‘strict constructionist’.
He has played around with the definitions so much that nobody can trust a word he says on judges. (Or anything else for that matter.)
Rudy will do whatever he wants with judges and doesn’t give a damn what we think about it.
