Czech president Vaclav Klaus: "surprised" at Nobel prize for Gore

Prague (dpa) - Czech President Vaclav Klaus, a rare vocal global- warming sceptic among heads of state, is "somewhat surprised" that former US vice president Al Gore received the Nobel Peace Prize, the president's spokesman Petr Hajek said in a statement.

"The relationship between his activities and world peace is unclear and indistinct," the statement said. "It rather seems that Gore's doubting of basic cornerstones of the current civilization does not contribute to peace."

Klaus said in a recent speech that environmentalists' efforts to halt global warming "fatally endanger our freedom and prosperity."

The Czech president publicly expresses doubt on what scientists, including those participating in the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, also this year's Nobel Peace Prize laureate, deem very likely - that global warming is caused by humans.

He also said that rising temperatures may not matter enough for governments to throw funds at halting the process.

In a newspaper interview earlier this year, Klaus said that only Al Gore, and not a sane person, would say that mankind is ruining the planet.

Shows you just how infested the globe is with Marxist thought. Vaclav would win the GOP nomination hands down and squash Hillary like the little red bug she is.

Stuffing the medal down al's still sore's throat would do more for world peace than anything else.

It is way past time to put fat prince albert back in the can.

“Al Gore = American Lysenko”

Except Lysenko was a scientist... abet one that thought he could teach regular wheat to be winter resistant. And with Stalin's help threw scientists working on genetics for real winter wheat

Lysenko was not a scientist, he was a charlatan who caused real scientists to be killed or sent to the gulags.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trofim_Lysenko

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysenkoism

His theories were discredited eventually and declared fraudulent.

Of course Stalin had anyone proposing a solution to the crop disasters of forced collectivism, he had them work on improving crop yields. Lysenko was supported by Stalin not because he was a success but he appeared to ‘talk the talk’ and to find a convenient scapegoat for the Stalinist agricultural failure in scientific genetics which Lysenko succeeded in branding a bourgois pseudoscience oriented towards conspiracy against Soviet agriculture.

Lysenko and Lysenkoism are mentioned when we spot a scientific fraud in our midst who uses propaganda and political power to further their scientific fraud and who silences opposition via friends in powerful political places.

Sounds exactly like Al Gore.

President Claus now understands just how dis-associated from reality the Nobel Peace Prize award has become.

Al Gore’s Nobel Peace Prize First Ever Given That Has Nothing To Do With Peace

I wouldn't say Yasser Arabfart's and Jimmy Crapper's had much to do with peace either.

I've been wondering if Central and Eastern Europe aren't preparing to have a sort of "Golden Age" during this century and the next, when they will emerge as an economic powerhouse and the prime defenders of Europe against the Islamic onslaught, while most of Western Europe sinks into decay. Given your experience, do. you think this is possible, or am I just wishful thinking?,

You aint just wishfull thinking !!! Eastern Europe being under the boot of communism for 50 years will be the vanguard again the Islamic onslaught and even to a lesser extent Russia if she gets past the ghost of Soviet Communism. Central and Eastern Europe will surpass the west as leaders so long as it does not fallback into socialism.

Look for the western banks to start loaning them money to wreck their economies. Just like they did in Africa. The West already has a good start in almost destroying the Serbs on the trumped up charge of "ethnic Cleansing". Remember that Clinton led that one !!!

Long live the people of Eastern Europe !!!

Yes he was scientist (biologist and agronomist) but a really pisspoor one.

However the wikipedia article does sound eerily familiar with today's AGW politically correctness and governmental punishment of scientists that dare not tote the AGW fantasy.

I think you cheapen the reputation of scientists by allowing someone of Lysenko’s nature to be included in that category. His theories did not follow scientific method, did not allow for testing and confirmation. His theories were just ‘talk’.

I have a godmother who is 88 years old, who escaped from East Germany in 1948 after having been tasked to be a translater for Russian Generals in Berlin. That is why she fled because she knew they would kill her after she came to know their correspondence.

The reason I mention that is that I think Lysenko, who was a peasant, was snagged by Stalin to be the point man on Soviet agriculture. If he failed he was dead. So he learned to make stuff up as he went along and to find someone to blame for the failures. Those people that he blamed were real scientists who were killed or sent to die in the gulags.

I think that characterizes Lysenko, a cowardly survivor.

Yes indeed, Lysenko and Gore share many of the same traits.

I have heard that Al Gore in one of his books wrote that children in Silesia, Poland are transported to underground coal mines to protect them from infected atmosphere in this region caused by industry. This statement place him somewhere between Grimm brothers and Ron Hubard. Either he is an idiot or treat this nonsense as a good business exploiting ignorance of public opinion.

Wasn’t there lots of talk about Bore spending googles of dollars on campaigning to get this prize? If so I’d like to hear more about it.
