There is simply an air about them suggesting a less than entire probity. One would think the University would favor someone more ... dignified.

You gotta give this committee credit for at least one thing -- they are world class weasel-worders. "Inadvertent plagiarism" ranks rights up there with "accidental armed robbery." It's especially hilarious since the committee found at least 40 instances of these "irregularities." Who accidentally steals another's wording and ideas 40 times in the same paper?
