Aye aye aye.

Thankfully my SIL is in the big house until November 2008 ( she just went last month ). She was in a DWI wreck last year where she paralyzed the other driver. She has yet to accept culpability and wanted to claim her necessary hip replacement as injury from the wreck the other driver caused and glean sympathy.

Thank goodness my wife had seen this behavior too long and had cut her loose a wile back ( before the wreck ) and told her to stay away. They family is upset that we think it is for the best. I told them at this point I don’t give a s&*t if they like it or not.

In my experience it seems like it always splits the family into two camps:

1) The family members who don't see the enormity of the problem while defending and making excuses for the addict, and who attack you for being oh-so-callous and cruel to their poor little angel, and

2) Me and a select few others for whom the problem is obvious.
