Why, you may ask, does the Guttmacher crowd play fast and loose with zeros? Because they are deliberately exaggerating the magnitude of the problem in order to create a "health crisis." After all, the more women they can claim have "unsafe" abortions, the more women they can claim die as a result. The numbers are merely chips in a high-stakes poker game to legalize abortion-on-demand worldwide. And yet the abortionists have never said a word about the women who die every day from their "safe and legal and rare" abortions and they are actually happy about the thousands of children who die every hour.

Why would an abortion rate drop if it became legal? As places have seen with legalization of other things, it would become MORE frequent, not less.

Another Guttmacher claim is that the number of abortions has "fall[en] most where abortion is broadly legal." "On the whole, the abortion rate decreased more in developed countries, where abortion is generally safe and legal on broad grounds ... than in developing countries, where the procedure is largely illegal and unsafe."
This is akin to saying that use of illegal narcotics goes down once they are legalized. With regard to abortion, the "safe and legal" policy--thoroughly perspectivist and recklessly pragmatic as it is--is another mythical media giant.
It seems the old rusty clothes hanger is still the pro-abortion weapon of choice (surely no pun intended).
